Well not the combo—>jackhound---->throw, but there were a couple of combos in that vid that did substantial damage. I was speaking in generalites anyway.

If Johnny FRC’s the mist at the right distance you don’t get a throw. If you do, I’ve never seen anyone do it.

having to FRC mist after a 1-hit Ensenga (which you are likely only to get after doing a combo that cost tension in the first place) is bad design

It’s been the same since XX, and I haven’t had trouble with it, even on pad when I used to play.

It’s just when you press the 7 or 9 you have to press the button at the same time. Takes a small bit of practice, but I can get it 99% of the time.

I just posted that vid cause I had not seen a combo vid in a while and thought it was interesting.

But my general rule of thumb is to stay the fuck away from CV’s.

Axl’s problem is that his attacks all have slow startups and his run in general is very slow.

his fastest move is K, which would be the best move to begin rushdowns… it is HARD to run up to an opponent and go for the 2K… hell it’s hard to run up to the opponent regardless. Another option would be using 3P but with slow run it’s seen from a mile away. As I said, he’s better on Oki than on rushdown.

and like I said, all his IAD stuff (at least in my experience) gets anti-aired if you get too close. the only thing I can jump in with is S, and that is a long range move. It can be followed up with koku FRC tho so it’s still good.

There are more ways to rush down than to IAD at someone or run up all the way into point-blank range.

And given that Axl has knockdowns from like half a screen away…

Axl isn’t the in-your-face-mixing-you-up kind of rushdown. It’s kinda frame-trappy, with a bit of throwing and a lot of preempting jump-outs with pokes/anti-airs into combos. FRC Rensengeki is a pretty decent pressure tool sometimes, so’s FRC 2H in strings. Freestyle it a bit and you’ll start getting the hang of it.

Watch videos of Mensou or Shuuto if you need video footage of good Axls playing.

WIth axl you just want to land mid range KD’s. Once you get it, it’s mixup time. the back out if you didnt get the KD and start over.

Axl’s new Bomber Loop in the corner HURTS, and leads to oki. And like what everyone said, Axl isn’t exactly a rushdown character, so there’s no reason to go all out IAD’ing in and shit, especially when Axl’s IAD game blows compared to others…

With Axl:5p and 2s. If your opponent jumps they either

1-Lose meter

OR

2-Lose life.

Whore resen frcs, tk bombers, and silly random pokes that give him retarded amounts of damage (IF he has meter lol)

In a real match, it’s hard enough to get the spacing and the knockdown required for some nice wake/mixup. And wouldn’t you know it, sj everytime:dp::r::uf::3p::looney:

Anyone have any tips on how to play bridget and may in this game. I’ve been playing millia forever.

Can some one give me some tips on TKing robos FB and missles. I read that his jump is slower then most so when I try to tk into his FB I get nothing. alittle help would be nice cause im working on his lockdown, so a tk FB would really help me out.

for some reason it seems like you have to do tk motions slower in this installment. Could also be the stick or controller you’re using. might I ask what are you using?
