GGXX:Accent Core Thread! [AMERICAN PS2 RELEASE, GO GO GO!]

It’s gross to me how many people play (prefer) pad. Analog? Hahah, dear god.

Anyway, I officially picked up ABA now. Fuck Millia. Stupid bitch dying in one combo is not okay. She just doesn’t deal enough damage for me to balance out her defense, plus there’s a lot more Millia players than I thought so everyone here knows how to deal with her. I’m getting quite good at blocking playing ABA since it’s so fucking important to not fall down. OMG and it felt so good to be on the other side of the fence - I killed a Chipp player in one combo after a little bit of blockstring. Ahahahah, counter hit j.HS omg. Rape.

Let’s NOT hate on Millia.:shake:

She could be Bridget after all…

Order-Sol kills both of them in 2 lvl.3 combos.

o man, wait till you are filling up guard bars left and right into unblockable/mix ups… into death. You’ll be feeling great.

ABA is more of a power hitter than anything. Her mix up is pretty weak.

Got my copy of ac [yaay andry] and now I can practice taking 50%~ off with one combo. :wonder:

Nah, I wouldn’t say they are weak(although other characters have better). But, they work good enough. Though most of her hits come from people trying to rush themselves and trying to getting a hit on her because either their guard bar is up, she is down to 1/3rd moroha, or they just grow impatient and scared of the damage they could receive.

I agree with Spirit Juice, what’s A.B.A going to mixup from?
Her Moroha mode overhead is crappy without 50% tension, and it’s still crappy because it can be jump blocked.
2.K isn’t all that either because it prorates heavily.

Those moves work because in the corner when the opponent is being pressured, the main thing on their mind is not to get thrown; especially with a Guard Bar full. So they do silly stuff and get hit will semi-mixups.

I’m pretty crap with A.B.A but she’s my main and I play competitively.
I would say that A.B.A is more pressure, pokes and priority.

There’s a reason why ABA has some of the best, high priority normals in the game, so her mix up takes a hit for that. She’s kind of like Robo and Slayer; weak mix up but do some nasty damage when they hit you.

which characters do u guys think have the best mixups in the game then? dizzy, millia?

Eddie and Testament.

oh yeah forgot about them, no wonder y their their the highest tiers.:looney:

aba in a nutshell:
when you get in, use block strings with minor gaps to make people think they can poke. if they do poke, confirm the hit/counter hit and combo. if they respect the frame advantage, either continue pressing to increase guard meter, or start throwing. this is just an outline, and obviously doesn’t take into account of what other characters can do against her shit, however.

I agree with this. A.B.A is hardly a crap character (actually she’s fucking good) but her mixup is pretty much non-existent.
I’m totally fine with that though as her other features make up for it.

Oh, and Robo Ky’s mixup game isn’t all that bad. He’s has 5.K (which I admit prorates heavily), but he also has his Dust.
He does so much damage off that unblockable Dust (it’s so fast it may aswell be) I don’t think he needs another overhead.
Also TK’ing Robotic Ky’s FB can be used as an overheaad.

Testament, Eddie, Millia, Dizzy and maybe I-no and Bridget

No, that’s pretty much a good description.
However, watch out for DDA’s and people who like to reversal Dragon Punch.
Also Jam’s parry is good against some of A.B.A’s block strings and especially good against her anti-airs.

With that said, I’m not very good yet but I think I’m explaining these things correctly.

I’ve been travelling for reals with ABA since August, and you’re definitely underestimating ABA’s pressure. She will be in threatening range a lot. She can definitely get throws, 2Ks, 5Ss and whatnot. Her j.S mixup is fucking NASTY. 2K is very solid, especially as meaty. Sure it prorates compared to her other shit, but a 2K combo is like 1/6th and resets your pressure all over again to whatever you want, butt KD, keygrab KD, 2D KD, even string into 2x keygrab. Whatever. I’m also guessing by overhead you meant unbrock (and not 5D), which is far from crappy, but also far from abuseable. It’s another tool she has that your opponent has to watch out for, or he will die. While ABA’s overhead/low game isn’t nearly as strong Millia disc and 6K/2K/etc, or Eddie shadow 5K/6K etc., it’s a slightly different kind of guessing game.

ABA has a very good dust, a mediocre unbrock, two decent lows that have ok rewards (2K mediocre damage, 2D strong knockdown oki), ability to string j.S into j.P->j.K and land whenever, her j.S mixup, EX fireball, and some of the best throw damage in the game. She can land a hit or throw in pressure, and with a cranked guard gauge, it will hurt a whole fucking lot. In addition, ABA also wrecks DPs with danzais and sick punishment in general. That being said, she doesn’t have anything bananas, and lacks the overhead game to be a fiend like I-No/Millia etc. Instead you should be scaring people with your throw, fake throw (poke), f.S, 2K, Danzai, and so on.

I’m no expert with A.B.A, actually reading your posts on Dustloop have helped me alot.

Oh, and I didn’t underestimate her pressure, actually I pointed that out as one of her main points.
I just don’t think her mixup game is very good.

My bad :X Playing ABA so much makes me want to play I-No though. ;p

I feel the exact same way actually.

Not Bridget. Bridget’s mixups aren’t bad but you can’t set them up as reliably as, like, I-no or Eddie or something where every single knockdown is a coin toss. The really rewarding stuff (like 6K, release yo-yo, do other shit) also loses to mashing on counterpokes in any situation that’s not a complete trick shot, so there’s an entire extra layer of guesswork that these characters who can just put you in ultra blockstun and then force you to block high or low or make complete balls out guesses on when they’re going to throw you don’t have to worry about.

I see. I wasn’t too sure about Bridget that’s why I put him under maybe.
Oh, and the most recent matches with Ruu were amazing just bastard tactics all over.
