GGX2 Faust Combos

saw some real nice faust players the other day…w/ a nice use of an rc…

any combo into pogo RC, dash forward, s. k jump <k, k ,k s>?

not too sure on the brackets, but i did see a combo like this pulled off about 3 or 4 times before i had to leave. can anyone elaborate on it? i’m bout to hit up x2 so i’ll test it out.

i just barely realized it…nice combo. never actually used it till i saw it in play.i thought the only use for rc’s were in the corner(w/ faust that is)

A few major things to rember about Faust to help your game by a huge amount.

Firstly, s.S can cancel into c.D. With that in mind, c.D can be jump cancelled, which means you can send out an Ai (236P) on your opponent for a great pressure game, I use it all the time to put my opponent in the corner, then I follow up with a massive corner combo on them.

Next, alot of times if you get too seperated from your opponent in a combo you can finish with a 6HS and land a bit more damage (hey, it’s an overhead :wink: ).

But the biggest deal about Faust is to remember to have items flying, someone already mentioned this but I cannot emphasize enough how many times someone gets hit by a mini-faust or hammer and completely gets screwed over, should you be lucky enough to get a meteor, your opponent will really hate you.

im having problems connecting one of fausts juggles, so any experienced people replies would be coo

my problem is right after the 6p (forward+p), every time i try to connect the standing kick, my opponet always does air recovery before i get a chance to hit with it. Is there anyway to get this to always connect? does air recovery time vary on the other character (millia’s recovery being quicker than potemkin’s)?

also i dont know shit about the differences between #R and xx, so if someone could point me in the direction of a thread discussing the differences or a web page or something that would be cool. thanks

scalpel super has guarenteed damage if the person you’re playing doesn’t press any buttons; it does maximum damage every time.

6p -> that combo you posted ONLY works on counterhit 6p; so go 6p -> item toss -> combo on counterhit. ;o sexy stuff.

s.K, s.S. s.HS, 236S, frc, c.HS, 236S, hold down(dont roman cancel, u dont need to), c.P, c.S, jump, K, jump, K, S, HS, bag, if they dont tec then the bag hits and u run up and s.K air combo.

only works in corner. remember, play to impress while u win

how’s the damage on this comparing to (corner) …[stuff]… 236S, HS (going my way), mid air RC, air 236HS (2nd going my way)? <— roughly 200 dmg. just trying to see which one is more practical.

just got into faust… he is too good… such easy combos, so much damage…

didnt know about the RC double “going my way”… too good

combos ive started out with

S,6S,2D xx item throw or item throw super
i mix up the 2D w/ regular dust, but i dont know any good dust combos… just try to get as many S’s and HS’s as possible. i might just stick w. 6HS

what i love about item throw is how u can cancel it from anything…

best thing to do after a corner throw? i just do 2D xx item throw

how good is his air 3K, counter hit leads to good combos… but is it safe coming down when blocked?

here’s what i think from my short time of playing faust…

for combos, if you can actually get a S to hit (i assume that’s a close one since you do 6S, which is far S, afterward), i suggest doing S, HS and 236S afterward. that opens up for lots of opportunities, much better than just sweeping and throw item.

i think his air 2K (should be just 2K instead of 3K) is great… btw… potemkin CANNOT do a heavenly potemkin buster on faust while faust is coming down with 2K, i’ve hit a potemkin out of that super many times with it… i think sometimes it may not be safe when blocked, but learn your height and do a 236HS after a blocked air 2K. if you get the height right you will land during the spinning motion, which puts you back on the ground pretty safely. however if you don’t get it right, it will spin back up, and if it’s also blocked, you can get punished.

and yeah i’d like to learn some good dust combos too… i don’t know of any damaging ones at all. but most ppl can see his ground dust coming from a mile away seeing as he has that whole transformation thing to do, unlike say sol’s dust or something :bluu:

There is one useing punches and kicks that does good damage also, but I just stick with the simple ones that do just as much.

as far as air combo I say just stick to k double jump k s hs

After a throw you can roman cancle it into standing kick into the basic air combo

after a corner command throw you can p s into his air combo

Throwing items is important but don’t lose important set up in favor of just having an item out. After throwing an item I either jump and HS, Jump and bag head, or do HCF kick. depending on spacing.

Fausts 2k is super easy to make meaty, so you never have to fear a throw, which is nice because it makes playing him almost too easy.

Fausts Dust has invincibility on it, nothings funnyer than hitting potemkin out of a hammer fall with it, or other total BS like that.

In XX just get the FRC pogo down and your good to go mostly. any combo into pogo, then run up and kick, and then air combo.

Fausts only problem imo is that his 6p is less spectacular than most other characters. But his kick can anti air most stuff. sometimes you have to be ballsy against stuff like testaments air dust and just go for the counterhit 6p though.

air 2k XX going my way = good for sticking out randomly

how do you do that overhead thing where u superjump,faultless,then do kick?

While in the air,

hold the joystick in down-back. hit Kick and another attack button (except dust). however, you gotta hit kick a little bit before. This will cause you to do Faust’s 2k, and then cancel it into a faultless defense.
