"GGPO for MVC3" Signature Thread: WE WANT GOOD NETPLAY!

and you know what, arcadia magazine finally put them mother fuckers on blast. If arcadia magazine put kof 12 on blast first for that games net play, who knows how good kof02um could of been online.

its time that shoryuken.com puts capcom on blast for their shit garbage ass net play.

Gears maybe?

Hopefully it can match VF5 and VO:OT for online play. Signed.

Firmado!

I never found a problem with SF4 so-called “awful” netcode.

For LAG FREE PLAY!

Playing ssf4 online is sorta equivalent to playing on a modern flat screen TV with input display lag. Now we don’t use TV’s @ any big tournaments that produce input display lag on purpose so why is it ok for online to have it?

Especially when ggpo style netcode mimics offline play much more effectively than ssf4 net code. The differences between the two styles are HUGE.

On that note, what DO they use at big tourneys?

we have quite a few threads on SRK that point people into the right direction for the TVs @ least.

Signed baby! SIGNED!!!

Signed, but the game ships in 3 months. At this point there’s no amount of sigs that could change whether they’ve implemented GGPO or not.

Signed, but I’m not expecting anything good.

I don’t know how many times it must be said but if the netcode is bad for mvc3, we can @ least get the ball rolling for future titles. Who knows, mvc3 will eventually have that “patch” dl-ed sooner or later and we might get ggpo netcode in mvc3 v.2 and if not there, in mvc3 v.3 etc…

if we don’t talk about it now, we will forever have bad net code from capcom.

Can you patch in good netcode? Seems weird.

Right after HDR was released, capcom was already working on mvc2 for xbl\ps3. Now they choose the japanese DC version for 2 reasons. 1, it was the tournament standard and 2, mvc2 on DC via the japanese version already had an online function programmed for the game. All they did was remove the net code from the japanese DC version and swap in the HDR net code.

As to how hard that it is, I can’t say but as far as swapping net codes go, its been done before.
