Getting to the Jaguar sleep over: Adon Combo Thread (OP Updated: 05-05-10)

Can someone explain to me when I should be comboing into which version of RJ? Also which IAJK I can combo off of and into what?

Rule of thumb:

BnB Combos --> light RJ … (if your opponent is crouching into EX RJ)
FADC Combos --> medium RJ (because of the higher damage)
Punish Combos --> HK RJ (because of the … damage)

You can combo off any IAJK (next rule of thumb)

If you hit a standing opp --> combo into cr.mp > light RJ
If you hit a crouching opp --> combo into sweep / cr.hp > super or RFA / straight into EX RJ

There are character specific things and also some stuff is a bit range and hitbox depending … but this is not something you should worry about if you are starting with Adon … all the rules above work on the full cast.

Do you think adding hit stun or more frame advantage on IAJK, so Adon has a legit way of comboing into cr. hp > red focus on standing opponents. Would that be a reasonable buff to compensate for the -2 on block/chip dmg nerf? or should cr. hp have less start up frames to make the link easier? Both ways would make the link easier. But would it make for an OP change?

Some pretty crazy stuff

Slower start up on cr.hp would be just awesome … so you could also combo from a close MP counterhit into cr.hp > RFA

Don’t know if it would be OP … I would also love to have less pushback on cr.hp … so you can combo off from a cr.hp CH … currently it does only work against Chun-Li, Abel, maybe Blanka and Bison … not tested it 100% …

8 frame cr.hp and cr.hk start up arethe only buffs I want for Adon … Adon would be perfect with this buffs.

Nah, i think its only dhalsim specific unfortunately.

Hey guys, I just started playing adon about 2 weeks ago and I have been doing a lot of work with him in the lab. I know he has an amazing kara throw, but what about his other specials? I know his hk rising jaguar is a great AA but can it be kara-canceled to increase its lateral range?

I’ve thought about maybe trying to use his overhead for a kara-cancel but I haven’t had any success with it.

Hi … actually his Kara-grab with Roundhouse is ok but not “amazing” … you are maybe thinking that he has a very good kara because his back-throw has more range than his forward throw … so if you kara his back-throw it got pretty solid range.

I also tried to increase the range of his RJ with a kara button … but nothing seems to work … OH looks like it could work but I never found anything useful.

What would be awesome would be a Kara-EX-RJ … so you could juggle after a single hit LK RJ (mid-screen) … but I don’t know how this can/could work … unfortunately …
