Getting lost in the beat: Dee Jay Video Thread (front page updated 1/16/12)

updated the front page.

no more ugly imbedded videos in the first post
updated the matchup videos. 2012 videos are noted.
super videos will be left out because of the radical changed deejay went through. you’ll have to search the thread yourself for that.

haven’t been excited when watching another deejay play until now. he made some mistakes, but i guess that’s what made it enjoyable.

A friend told me that Viscant took Dee Jay to top 8 losers at SCR last week… anyone got videos of that?

correct.

U can find it here somewhere:
http://nl.twitch.tv/leveluplive (videos).

Its many hours of footage, dunno where u can find him playing. A part of him playing against a gen player i’v found, cant remember the timestamp tho.

this deejay is didn’t know the matchup at all. he didn’t want to block either.

perfect example of what not to do as deejay.

should i put this loss on the front page under the spoilers?

Yo… that crossup knee at 1:35 was sick. it looked like he landed it directly in the center of Sagat’s body.

i’m assuming that’s character specific, or maybe even Sagat-only? cause I’ve been trying to find a consistent crossup knee setup for a while now with no luck

I get them randomly too!

Took me 1 hour to browse through 18 hours of stream orso lol, but here it is.

First bad match i’v seen pikotan play. He missed ultra 2 in 2nd round also.
Round 1 was a real mess. Probs to the abel player i guess.

Thanks a bunch for the SCR videos dude, you rule

viscant vs wong
i loled in the end

watched the first round of viscant vs justin and saw enough.

Viscant wasn’t using enough UPKICKS. You need to UPKICK this fatass to no end to get him to respect your wake-up.

up kicks and tech throw cr fierce OS against the divekicks i guess.

i really don’t like the PSN deejay players.
Pikotan is good when he knows a matchup. when he doesn’t he’s ass.

PSN isn’t as good as XBL in terms of developing players imo. I’ve played on both and XBL seems to breed better players, don’t know why. Of course, minimizing online play and playing offline is infinitely better ;p

I am massively unimpressed with Viscant’s Dee Jay. As he says himself in the interviews pre-match, he doesn’t even play this game. I counted at least a dozen times when he couldn’t complete his cr. lp cr. mk link, which is a bit like a Sakura player not having the execution to buffer cr. mk into dp. He made it as far as he did on reads and shaky fundamentals alone. Along with his opponents’ ignorance of the Dee Jay matchup.
