The run away Akuma match is funny. Lesson #1, don’t run after Akuma take your time. I think that all DJs should go to the training room and practice sliding under fireballs. It really help against run-away shotos.
I think the match is dumb. There’s alot that akuma can do with his fireballs. He’s able to land before and after the fireball. Instant air it, Good fireball spacing from Akuma can make you sit there trying to guess anticipate what kind of fireball is coming…and give him free pressure with demon flip. If you sat there and tried blocking, focusing, it doesnt matter…either the palm is going to get you, the dive kick is going to throw off your timing, they wiff palm mind game you…among other things. -_- The spacing game is just way to slanted in that matchup. I’ve gone as far trying to smash ex airfireball approaches with ex machine upper…There’s a possibility of one of the fire balls going past the hitbox and hitting you…You’ll also get minimum damage off of it anyway. Slide seems to get swallowed by his pokes sometimes…Thank god his step kicks dont hit crouching DeeJay(sometimes you’ll get a random one that does…I dont understand why). Any success I’ve had versus runaway Akuma comes from in and out motions…Doing stuff like like kneeshot in and out seems to make it hard for them to know the right type of fireball to use to lock you down with. Sliding under regular and air fireballs seems to be a must…even if one results in a trade.

Nah son, just dont press buttons. Once you knock him down, just vortex the prison suit off his ass.
You’ll eat waaaaay more damage getting counterhit from teching than if you be patient and happen to get grabbed.

I dont know how consistent he is in that matchup…but I know I’m not nearly where I want to be. Played a B+ ranked Yun player yesterday.He knew how to play the char…but The guy mashed soooo freakn much. I actuall hit him with ultra after I knocked him down one time…cause I knew he was gonna crouch tech…Guy would constantly run into fireballs and would do bad choices, like HK reversal himself into the corner…Yet I still didnt beat him consistently enough. I feel like I should lose to people like that at all.

I’ve been noticing that akimo does his crouch tech OS with a FP ( :db:::lp::hp::lk:). What advantage does that give? cr. HP has 7 frame start-up, so it seems strange he would want to OS that.
