That guy needs to focus on getting the damage he CAN get out of his combos. When he wasn’t dropping his links he’d end up fucking himself over by trying to FADC into some stuff he’d drop any how.
In other news, I’m in love with J. lp right now because the hit box seems to reach further than my other air normals and it’s deceptively active for a long time. I’ve been able to keep up pressure with it when people start running from me, or winning air to air battles when I’m doing the running.
That was me. I had the jitters because it was a money match as well as it being the 2nd place evolution winner. They provided a stick that was so so… but I blame it on my nerves. I had just finished money matching Sanford Kelly BTW…dude’s button presses had the loudest echos LOL.
Here is another money match of mine from evo, lost to a pretty good Yun.

Also, funny thing about money matches, I beat a ibuki in a 1st to 3, then a guy plays me; he played zangief and beat me, plays someone else and switches to ryu. =( ppl counterpick in real life yo~
That was either friday or saturday after sf was over. I unno but he had atleast $100 from money matches at the booth.
Evo was fun even though it was very draining. I was running on atleast 4 hours of sleep and staying up for hours and hours due to so much fun!
Kurokiba looks more like a deejay player now instead of a blanka player trying to play deejay
After ex sobat do meaty lp fireball and jump jab. I use that to beat all akuma who demon flip to escape the fireball chip. If they teleport forward you should be able to land and block.
you mean random lk sobats? oh yeah those lol i do the same thing, but AE made me do it.
this is why i don’t like AE deejay. he gets away with shit now, but if it works…
playing Super DeeJay made me a better player because everything was unsafe and i had to space so much. AE deejay won’t make you a better player. i feel like he doesn’t teach you anything in AE.
…Spoken Like someone who prides themselves in low tier…Fuck that.
…Any character who HAS to do everything right to win usually isnt all that great to begin with(in my experience). All good characters usually have something “So good”…Hell if it’s sobat for us…let it be. Dj aint got half the awesome crap someone like Viper or Akuma has.
It just creates flowchart habits, poor gameplay, and stagnant progression. I can’t play characters like that. If I play a high tier I’ll do worse than I could with the S tier.
I don’t think DJ gets away with *that *much in AE. Sure, sobats are safe and recovery on air slashers is good, but you will still get punished if you use them stupidly. The key is that it’s not only easier to set up pressure in AE, which I can understand you might not respect, but it’s also more viable, in that now you have options against characters which were simply pointless matchups in Super.
You’ll always have lazy players who forward mk and dp with ken, and you’ll always have lazy players who downback and upkick all day with DJ. But equally, you’ll always have players who get the best out of DJ, and better tools like lk sobat might make it easier for lazy players, but it also means that great players will really make the character sing.
lk.sobat is -5 on block. I haven’t tested but I’m sure Chun can punish with Super. Even though -5 is punishable frame wise, the spacing is what’s important. Guile’s FK is 4f startup and spacing shouldn’t be an issue so I would test that if I was near the game. I doubt most SRK’s can reach properly spaced lk.sobat. Fei can’t with any rekka. Balrog can’t with jab dash straight. Gief can’t with any green hands. I’m sure there are a few supers but most of the cast can’t punish it.
