Getting 360 SFIV TE stick to work on Mame32 Plus Plus 0.119

My PC is able to pick up my stick automatically. I can see that it works normally through the control panel, but Mame doesn’t seem to want to pick it up. I get this error whenever I start up a game, “DirectInput: Unable to set absolute mode for joystick 1 Arcade stick…”.

I went into the default game options and enabled “joystick input”, but it doesn’t seem to change anything. I heard about there being a fix for this issue, but I couldn’t find it on google because all the shoryuken forum links in the search results redirect me to nowhere. I have windows 8 64-bit if that information is necessary. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Try setting your stick selector to LS.<br>

Yes I’m having the same problem. I’ve looked on google for answers and everything I’ve tried didn’t work. Can somebody please help?

Same Arcade stick and OS as the original Post?

I’m using the latest MAME (0.151) and with both a ps360+ based stick and my Mad Catz 360 sticks (running as Xbox360 Controllers for Windows in Windows 8.1) it works when set to DP mode for the joystick.

I’m not sure if your build is as old as OP’s, but having the latest official build is certainly recommended. It’s not just new games that get added/promoted in each build - a lot of stuff under the hood usually gets addressed as well.

I’m using a Xbox 360 TE Stick, Windows 8 and MAME Plus Plus 0.119
