Ok, no good netcode.
The only reason I would recommend this is for those who don’t have or will get the PS2 version.
And would like to play online with someone 30 feet away from you.

It’s a waste if you want the online.
Game: 10 out of 10
Netcode: 1 out of 10

266 ping and from France …felt alright

74-124 ping and from San Diego felt better!!

You sir, are either in denial, or are getting really lucky that you are actually able to have fresh inputs. And you’re probably winning because your opponents have a full second of input lag if you don’t have any.

Just wait. You’ll know what I mean within the next hour.

I didn’t check, I got so pissed off I turned off my 360 for the night.

Someone else might know.

Unless you guys are planning on taking this to tournaments, or have meetups where they’ll play Garou, DON’T download this game. I feel robbed by SNK. I will definitely NOT be buying KOF12 until I hear about online. I would only buy it after that if my scene picks it up.

I believe Nocturnal said practice mode was identicial to PS2.

I guarantee it. the only game I didn’t have lag in, I hosted.

I bet that’s why Blacklac is not complaining. He’s creating his own lobbies.

This is an abortion of netcode. The team at SNK needs to go hang themselves. Right now.

In fact, here’s a review I wrote for another website:

Just got in Garou.

I would also not suggest picking it up if you’re planning to go online to play.

The netcode is atrocious. I don’t know how this passed by quality control. They should be drug out into the street in shot for allowing this to be released like this.

The game itself is fine. It graphically stands up well, even for a pre2k game. The controls are very smooth, some say on SRK (I haven’t played this version) better than the PS2 or Dreamcast ports. I had no problem getting any moves out. It just felt smooth…offline.

Online…it doesn’t matter what the ping is with my opponent, I’m expecting at least 12 frames (at one point, a full second) of input lag. UN. ACCEPT. ABLE.

I wanted to throw up. It feels like SNK offered me a lap dance, I paid them the money, then they sent out an 80-year old transsexual midget with one leg and then laughed in my face.

That’s how bad online is. It is so bad, that I am apprehensive about even buying King of Fighters XII, or King of Fighter 98 UM because the only competition I would be able to get in them would be online. In fact, any hopes SNK had of me pre-ordering KOFXII are now dashed because of this abortion of netcode they put into Garou.

So like I said, if you are going to play it offline because you actually like playing against the computer (If so, get your head checked), or you have friends that come over to play all the time and want to pull this one out, get it. If you’re lonely and want some online action, don’t waste your time or money. Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is a much better option in XBLA for online fighting game action. If you’re dead set on playing Garou online, just find the MAME rom, go to GGPO and set it up.

the first two people I played I won …not host of the first game(199 ping) host of the second (266)

the third guy I played against had the best ping (74-124) I hosted, we played 5 games and he won all 5 …

I’m playing practice mode right now to get a better feeling between offline and online

edit: yeah I just got a really bad one that was (180-200+ ping) shit was unplayable …I wasn’t host and he was from Japan

Well not like i need to say it, I had 3 Online matches and had like a second of input delay on each. Other than that, I’m happy to have the game so I can learn it and maybe play the 2 other people in Cali that have it.

Not while GGPO exists.
