I honestly hope so, the Fatal Fury series doesn’t get nearly enough of the attention that it deserves imo
WHEN they make motw2 i hope they get tonko to do the art, I like kofxii’s look for sure but tonko’s work is just incredible. considering what he did with a 20 year old board, he could probably make people cry tears of awe with the taito x2.
but theyll probably use a similar style to xii to make it easier to add chars to the next kof.
I just picked up MoTW because of the praise that it gets here and on GGPO. I decided to try it out and… I’VE PLAYED THIS GAME BEFORE! I even remember my main! I even remembered that the Diner stage uses a mix of Robert Miles - Children in the BGM!
This game has become my go-to replacement for the current SFIV. It’s just a better game. /shrug
So for a while, I’ll be brushing up on my Jenet and getting everything ironed out, then I’ll take it onto GGPO and get tourney-leveled into giving it up. XD
Shit is so dope.
P.S.
Noc, thanks for the thread, dude. If I could rep you, believe I would.
P.P.S
How do you unlock Grant and Kain? I’m playing it on FBA, so I don’t know if I need a different version or something…
Can someone give me a match up chart on this game?Interested in seeing how some characters do vs the best in the game.
They should be available from the get go if you just move to the left of Rock on the select screen, you should be able to select them. If not try this:
Highlight Dong Hwan, hold Start and input the following code: up, up, down, down, up, down. Play as Grant: Continue holding Start, press any button to confirm selection.
Highlight Jae Hoon, hold Start and input the following code: down, down, up, up, down, up. Play as Kain: While still holding Start, press any button to confirm your selection.
Fixed.
And I agree.
oh, one more thing…how do u go into training mode(i’m on FBA as well)?
You need the AES BIOS. I can’t link you to it because that’s a ban right there.
ok. thx for the help.
I just wanted to say that the Kain and Grant codes are on the first post of the thread as well.
tonko is good but personally i like kita better. hope he/she return to do some games soon enough, 2d ones at that.
I know the ps2 port has a few issues, but is it worth getting at all? Or should I wait till I get a good computer and use an emulator (my cpu sux)
ps2 port is fine afaik. i say get it, support SNK.
really, cause in the 1st post I read that there are speed differences.
I played ps2 mvc2 and the speed differences did affect me, so I don’t want something that will when I’m at home. The Guard Cancel message being gone is acceptable.
I got a neogeo emulator on my wii and I’ve been trying to run this game, but just doesn’t work.
The PS2 port is awesome. I play Garou on NFBA and PS2 and it’s not a big deal so get the game for PS2.
speed differences with the arcade version. most tournaments are held on ps2 i believe. the only thing you gotta keep in mind is that in training mode, dont put the opponent on 1-hit guard because some combos wont work (Dong’s qcfx2+P x2 juggle for example) or the cpu will block attacks that should combo (like Grant’s cr. A -> K super combo, the opponent will block the K super).
There is a slight speed difference but I wouldn’t say it’s so bad that it will mess you up. If anything you just have to adjust to it slightly.
why cant SNK release this game officially in the US on the PS2 like they have done with all the other stuff?
Same reason the other games come to the US a year later with less stuff. In essence, no1 knows. Nor have I heard any1 ask SNK.
On topic: I’m gonna hate if MOTW2 gets announced and I’m bareky getting MOTW. I love this game, but never had the chance to extensively play and learn it.
