Yeah I remember…but also bottom line is that I also had my act together a lot better also…
Keits lets assume everything is 16 at EVO World…well guess what?
We got more people this time to help (Noc, Giby, you, Josh, Guero, Pepe, Dash no Chris etc)…more TVs if we get there early…
More systems…more help…
So I aint worried…
We got this man trust me …all we need is about 3 Tvs…3 systems…3 recording devices…and Noc is bringing his stuff…Noc + Giby hell are running Garou and RB2 + getting stuff recorded for me even Adam on Sunday…so guess what that means?? That means I can run something ELSE on the Tvs…
Personally I’m questioning the wisdom of even running anything for games that barely anyone gets into tourneys for…that goes doubly for team tourneys. I mean, if you can only get a dozen people into a tourney in the first place, why cut that into team matches?
I gotta say though, it almost seems to me that running so many games would be stretching the base too thin. Tourneys do cost money and time to get in and play. Major event like that, both are gonna be in short supply for the folks attending.
Who says all the tournaments are gonna cost money?
Also I am just tossing around ideas…after all THIS IS IT.I look at EVO World SNK 2008 as THE END of the SNK Season for the year.
Everything starts back up again at NEC9 in Philadelphia in December…
So I want to go out with a bang giving everyone a bang for their buck.
Only those that know how I operate know I sometimes sponsor people to enter tournaments, and sometimes even make them FREE…
I could do the Team tournament for FREE…or I could give a bonus pot to the person that wins even though its a FREE TOURNAMENT…
(I did this with MIRA and you see we still got GREAT FOOTAGE, they played their asses off!)
People that know how I operate know thats a possibility…I dont care about the money…thats not why I’m doing this.
I want everyone to have as much fun as earthly possible with all the opportunities we are going to have! So I try things at EVO World I normally dont even bother with!!!
Whether or not they’re costing on money, they still require people to devote time to them. I can’t really make it out there myself this year, so I’m just spouting off, but it may end up like at Midwest, where several tourneys ended with ties because the players had other shit to attend to (with larger pots on the line). And really, tied tourneys? Kind of weak.
Yea if it all goes down I’ll record all that as well. We got plenty of room for recording more stuff so if people need help with recording matches we can help out. I’ll be in the BYOC area the whole time just about unless there is time to go play the new games at EVO. That and getting something to eat but for the most part I’ll be there at all times.
I agree on the last part you mentioned about ties. I know people wont just be at EVO for the BYOC area so things probably wont go as smoothyl but if it’s anything like last year. I’ll be waiting for Justin about 4 hours just to play the finals.
Well I am going to make people play out the Grand Finals now…pretty much at EVO World they won’t have a choice but to play it out…thats a rule I’m making sure gets into place.
I won’t let people split at the National Championship!!! I am going to make that a rule and post it in the EVO World SNK 2008 thread as well as in the SNK Storm thread so everyone understands this! You may do that at the others, but I can’t have a dual National Champion!!! Just can’t happen!
I also am going to try and get Justin as quickly as possible to play in Garou so it doesnt take as long and we aint waiting there forever.
Also yeah the more you can help out with for recording the better!
Here is the first sample video quality footage of the day:

Make sure to check it out in HQ and let me know what you think of it so far. I’ll be UL more sample videos until I get something close to what I feel is the best format to use.
Yea eventually that will happen for sure but first all the write ups have to be done first. Then from there we can start working on tut videos for each character to help those starting out.
I added two new videos showing Rock’s double rising tackle combo:

and also showing Kevin’s :d: + :snkb: meaty combo:

I dont know why it came out all shitty looking with the scanlines this stime around. You can still see what is happening in video but if you guys want better quality of the videos let me know.
Lack of Garou videos probably heh. I still cant get the japanese Garou matches convertered properly unless you guys dont mind sound sync issues? I would rather convert them correctly to get the commentary and all in there also. Until then I uploaded some recent GGPO Garou matches between Wain vs YURIASO both Japanese players. Wain appears to be Charle’s Wain from the HA Garou tournaments since he uses Kain very effectively. Just check my sig for my youtube page to check all the new stuff I’ll be uploading eventually. The other thing also is I started school again so I’ll be pretty busy with that while getting ready for EVO also. If anyone is going to EVO dont be afraid to say hi if you see peps playing Garou early Fri/Sat. I’ll try doing a nice updated before heading out to EVO also so you guys have things to check out while I’m gone for that weekend.
Edit: I added the codes for picking Grant and Kain on the MVS arcade version of Garou. Sorry about not putting it up sooner.
I could use a few pointers / tips on completing this Rock combo (outside of the corner)…
:qcb: + :snkd: Rage Run Shift into
360 + :snkc: … :snka::snkb: Shinkuu Nage (Break) followed by
:r: move forward and wait a moment then
:qcb: + :snka: single hit Hard Edge into
:qcf::qcf: + :snkd: Shine Knuckle followed by
hold :d: then :u: + :snkc: upon landing to finish with a Rising Tackle
I’ve completed this combo before (and can almost always get it when tossing my opponent into the corner), but I’m having trouble with my timing on steps 3-5 outside of the corner. Does anyone know how many steps Rock should take before performing step 4? When I get it right step 5 connects, when I’m off, step 5 whiffs (and I whiff way more than connect)
Are there any vids I could reference for this combo? I haven’t seen many people do it… also are there any variations that might make it easier? I know there is one that uses the Rage Run Shift a second time to better position Rock as the opponent is falling out of the Shinkuu Nage, but I’ve never been able to pull it off.
P.S. Just a weird note: sometimes if the timing is just right, step 4 will actually knock my opponent far behind me, instead of in front of me…
P.P.S. Can Tizoc’s jumpig :qcf: + :snka: Active Crash be done while jumping straight up or foward? I can only get it to come out while jumping backwards.
