"Get Ready...Survive!" The New Garou: Mark of the Wolves Thread

NeoGeo Station!!! OMG… my dreams… are reality…

The only tutorial like videos are the ones that Tizoc made a while back. They are up on youtube but they mainly just show combos for the most part. If you are looking for character match up tutorial stuff there isn’t any really. Match videos are your best source for seeing what is possible in matches.

Uploaded more Kansai area Garou MOTW first to 10 matches between Hachi Juu Shima (Gato) vs Atsu (Dong) from 12/18/10. Link to the videos is here:

I just uploaded 2 video tutorials regarding Terry’s feint cancel combo and crB hit confirm combo, hope it helps. Let me know if you’re looking for something specific, i’m willing to do more of these.

Woah nice. Always loved this game and Terry was my fav.

Going to be uploading a whole bunch of MOTW tournaments this week when I get a chance to do it. For now here’s an oldie now but still has some good matches. You can find the link to the videos here:

Enjoy and subscribe to my youtube as I’ll be uploading more frequently now.

Great find Nocturnal

Man I’ve been trying to play this game more on GGPO and do you have to have crazy quick fingers for it or something? I can’t break specials for crap. I’ve played against guys that can dance their way across the whole screen breaking a super and I can’t even get it to work like once out of 10 times. Forget about in a match or combo.

As a noob, I find breaking specials difficult too (my main is Khushnood) - though it’s easier with normal->uppercut->break than just uppercut->break in his case, so maybe the same will be true for you.

I’ve (slowly) improved a bit at it with practice, so there’s that too. It needs (at least seems that way with Butt) speed most of all, but an element of timing as well.

I’m going to give this game a try again. I’m gonna hop on GGPO with this soon. So any of you guys have tips for Kevin and Freeman? I’m gonna main Freeman? So any BnB’s and do’s/don’ts are greatly appreciated.

Please check the second post of this thread. Pretty much all the character info is there for the most part.

Thanks for sticking with this all these years Nocturnal.

Anyone going to EVO interested in Garou? I thinking about going with friends, but this game would truly be my only interest.

I think I may be going to EVO but seriously I’m no good at Garou. I like what I’ve played of it, but it languishes in third tier status for my time, after Jojos and vsav. So Unless you like schooling noobs that are eager to learn… Well, surely some others will be going.

Going to EVO, have a good bit of interest in hitting up any Garou stuff. Been working on my Freeman hella, need to see how it stacks up offline.

I think this game is even better than third strike

who wants play on ggpo?

I’ll be going to EVO again this year. Hopefully Giby can make it as well. I’ll bring a setup and everything for those interested in playing in the BYOC area. We’ll try to set something so we can do a mix of games this year for anyone interested in SNK games.

NO CONSOLE GAROU!!!
I don’t care if I have to bring my laptop again, I for some reason can’t stand the sped up console versions.
Also, after toying around in Garou lately. Is it me, or is Grant one of those chars that anyone can play? His fundamentals are so strong, but he doesn’t feel like he is asking for much. Compared to a Jenet, he just feels so easy to pickup.

I was thinking of going to Evo this year. If I do, I’d certainly be interested in getting together with some Garou. I could try bringing my MVS and supergun with me if people want?

I would def. be interested in a tournament, and this looks like a decent turnout…maybe I’ll start a poll thread in the Evo branch.

As for no Console, I should be done my super-gun as well, so we should get a few setups rolling.

jt4mtb and I, plus like 2 others, are the only ones in the area that are willing to meet up and play.

The speed difference isn’t so bad really. Just need to adjust to it slightly. Also console would be better since most people will have 360/PS3 sticks at EVO. Supergun would be nice though but we would need specific sticks to play on it. People would probably complain about the sticks not being something they play on. The more setup options the better.

As for Grant being easy to pick up. Yes he’s very easy to learn. Since you don’t really need to feint with him at all. It’s all links with him for the most part combo wise.
