Wow. Thanks so much, Nocturnal. You’re always so helpful.
Maybe us XBL players should flood the SNKP facebook page asking for netcode fixes. It worked for KOF2k2UM.
Although I do wonder, considering the game is a wasteland, maybe it would be possible to get some good games. I don’t know much about how servers work, but if at most 2 people are playing form the same country, shouldn’t it work to their advantage since they would be the only two on?
I don’t see how they would fix it. The netcode is crap. They would need to install/rebuild a new one from the ground up. I really don’t see that happening anytime soon. Not to metion GGPO is the best thing for online atm when it comes to SNK games. You’ll have better chances of finding someone to play on there compared to live.
In other news. Ko-hatsu uploaded some recent Garou MOTW Tournament matches on their youtube account. You can check for the links here:

Well, I have GGPO on my Mac but the Windows XP partition does not seem to recognize any USB stick at all. I’ve even tried getting the drivers and still it didn’t work. I’m still not giving up though cause I forgot how much I used to play this game a few years ago. Not super high level stuff like I see in some videos, but I always enjoyed it since it was the only fighting game I would play for hours on end without getting bored.
And speaking of the XBL version, is it a perfect port of the original MVS game? I remember playing the DC version and how out of sync everything seemed to be when compared to the MVS game.
It runs slightly faster than the MVS version. A lot of the slow downs are removed from the MVS version. So you would have to adjust coming from the MVS version a bit. Overall though it’s the best port for the game. It’s pretty much the PS2 version but they fixed that “Guard Cancel” word missing issue. They both have the same exact training mode. Both versions can be used for tournament use.
Anyone want to buy a relatively new Dreamcast MOTW off me?
Edit: sold it for 20.
Anyone know the outcomes of the side tourney at NEC XI this weekend?
The Howard Arena Japanese players have a ustream setup for at home console sessions:
Haraheriwolves on USTREAM: ??MOW???.
Enjoy.
1.)Steve H. ($36) Split the pot
1.)Justin Wong ($36) Split the pot
3.)Danny ($8)
4.)Chris Hu
5.)HuBBs
5.)MonoTekETeA
Steve H seems like a cool guy but hate when people split the pot. I was looking to record the final battle. sigh
Any tips on what I should be feint canceling with jae? I feint cancel close D when I can and the backdash move. Also crouching B, cr. C xx feint seems like good pressure. Is there anything I’m really missing?
That is pretty much it really besides close :snkc: and far :snkc: (on block not hit). You can FC his :d: + :snka: + :snkb: on hit as well but it has to hit. FCs in general should be only used with longer recovery normals or long range weak pokes to continue pressure/combo.
Uploaded a new Japanese Garou MOTW set. It’s from the Kansai area in Japan. It’s from a ranking match between Amamori (Terry) vs Atsu (Dong). First to 10 wins is the winner. You can find it here:

I am sorta new to this game. Does this game get any attention. I am gonna need people to practice with in order to get better.
I main Hotaru Futaba by the way. I would love for this game to receive any more attention. If anyone can give me any tips on the game than that’s great!
Check the first 2 post of this thread. If there is something not mentioned in those post then you can ask here for help. GGPO is probably your best option as far as playing people. Not a lot of people play it offline.
Ko-hatu’s 2nd Garou MOTW Tournament. You can find the links for the videos here:

Another set of videos I just uploaded from the Japanese Kansai area Garou MOTW players. It’s ranking match, first to 10 wins between Mhata (Kain) vs Atsu (Dong). Here is the link to the videos:

Seeing how Garou will eventually be on PSN, it would seem that it will be the AES ver.
I’m 100% sure it’s going to be the PS2/360 version of the game. That is if it ever does come out.
The Neo-Geo station is an emulator so its decent. If/when Garou comes out.
are there any video tutorials for this game?
im reading the stuff in th op, but i definitely like to see things in action that are being explained
