Hey guys, total newbie to the fighting game scene here! I live in Duluth area and frequent downtown Atlanta quite a bit. I was wondering if there was a scene for Persona 4 Arena around there and also possibly a Super Smash Bros. Project M tournament scene that me and my friend could get into.
Well, welcome to the scene.
A Persona 4 scene…I’m not sure if there is a scene. There are a number of people around that play it but they are not vocal about it. As far as Smash…there definitely is a scene. Brawl currently has the most active scence, but Project M & Melee are not too far behind in activity.

Your best bet is the Friday GA Tech gatherings. I know they play a lot of anime and Smash there (along with other stuff). PM me if you need some more info
So for the people that was hitting me up after the FR17 group rate ended looking for a room I have great news. I spoke with the hotel today and they are going to release more rooms under the fr17 group rate. Normally once the room block is completely full and the deadline has pass more rooms are never added to a reduced rate, but it is now! Right now the online reservation site for my event is not updated with the remainder of the rooms being released so you have to call the hotel at the following number;
- 767-9000
Make sure they do not connect you to the national reservation service because they will not honor the fr17 group rates.
If they have new rooms available under the FR17 group rate these are the prices you should get your rooms. They didn’t give me a count of what type of rooms were left so i’ll just list what the prices should be on the room type. I know they tried to charge JP and icemen 245 per night so make sure they are honoring the FR17 rate when you make your reservations.
for $93 per night it should be the regular double bed and single king bed if they have them available.
for $113 per night it should be the executive double bed and executive king single
for $133 per night are the King Junior Suite
I was told they would honor the FR17 group rate if you call in so if anyone and I mean anyone have a problem with receiving the fr17 group rate contact me asap so I can try and get that issue resolved.

Shit, totally forgot I posted here, my bad. My main game is Skullgirls (I know, I know 
), though I’m trying to get into SF4 a bit more. If I move it’ll be to go to Georgia Tech, so I’ll be in Midtown hopefully.
Well Georgia Tech is the best place to start. There are weekly meetups and sometimes tournaments at Georgia Tech.
So you will not have to travel far for that weekly fix. As you already know…not a lot of people play Skullgirls. The top games around ATL (I think) are Marvel, SF, Tekken, and Smash.
Either way, if you can make it out to one of those weekly meetups at GT then you should have no problem finding out everything that goes on around ATL.
What’s the best place to find time/place of those meetups? Is there a facebook group?
How long does the tournaments usually run for@ gx definitely wanna enter but don’t wanna hang to late, gotta love early morning work
