hey i played you on xbl the other day with my rachel, you got a pro tager. mind if i friend you and get some more games in?
Also I really hate playing against 13 but its definitely not unstoppable. I agree with the advice of being patient and most people will try to come to you eventually and thats not her strong point. Always watch out for the throw because thats one of her most damaging setups
that’s extremely false
she has ridiculous close range pressure forcing you if you don’t have a DP to just eat mixups or guardbreak
watch Inoue play with her and you will see what i mean
Can you give a specific video example?
Having good priority on some normals doesn’t make for an offensive pressure game, and 4D and 4B don’t seem very useful in breaking the opponents defense.
One year is still young. The tier list will change again and again.
I’m probably scrubbing it up, but I keep losing to the whole “Forward sword spam to overhead” shit that knocks you directly back into her D spam. Probably doing it wrong but once I’m in the D spam I just can’t fucking get out. Very frusterating!
Not that its unbeatable, I still can’t apply the proper pressure with Tao, so a lot of it is my own fault.
did you really write all that crap? man you can actually have useful information if you put your crappy “cobra-kai” attitude aside. Which one are you? Im guessing the angry one second from the left.
damn whoever negged me for this has no sense of humor and is WAY late to the party
i play rachel and it’s not that i’m having TOO much trouble against online nu’s but more like I wanna be ready for when I play offline v-13s, and I’m sure other people will as well. Thanks for the advice so far. Do any of her projectiles have overhead properties or can I turtle and hold downback at fullscreen if I have a lot of life. What about air unblockable stuff? Anything like that that I need to look for?
Right now I try to get close enough on the ground that I can block something and then stab her in the face with rachel and hope I get a counter hit, and get her into the corner, but then she can burst out of it and I have to do this twice. Like if I can get in two times I’m fine but I wanted to know the best ways of getting in and how to block and what to punish.
Wut?
If it catches your roll’s vulnerable frames, then everything can do it. It’s not a property of her super or something.
If you mean her 6426D super, you need to block it high, not low.
I mean her millions of swords super. If I get knocked down and tech, no matter what I get hit with it. If I tech in the air above it, and hold back while I fall into it, I get hit with it. I can’t seem to block it at all if I’m in the air or getting up.
just hammer down on her… she has really low life… she’s like akuma… so if you can stay on her and get around her spacing games (difficulty of this task varies with skill) and just kick her around until she dies… if you can get her into a loop wait for her to barrier burst and she’s yours with a well timed DD…
People saying that all you need to do is rushdown and poke her out of things has never actually played a good v-13. Same for people who said that she has shitty pressure strings also have not played a good v-13.
V-13 is the best character in the game for a good reason. She does almost everything extremely well, from impeccable zoning game to really good pressure strings. I’d argue that she does have a little trouble generating a good rush down, but she doesn’t really need it with her amazing control of space.
Most matchups against V-13 are hard. There’s a damn good reason why she is at the top of the tier list. There is no generic strategy to take her down as every character has needs to do something specific during the match up. Some characters have more tools then others.
The only thing I can notice when facing her and watching match vids is that her attacks doesn’t seem to cover a particular zone that well so it’s one of the “safer” places to defend/wait until you can get in close. Again though a competent Nu player will know this and will avoid leaving gaps in their offense so you’re back to relying on character specific strats.
Her 4D is overhead projectile, but it’s slow to come out and you can recognize it with ease. She also has tiger knee 214D but I think (not sure) it’s not hard to block on reaction as well.
About unblockables… you need to watch out from her 236236D super. You get stuck in it for so long that she can dash to you, burst and guard break you for a free combo…
Yes that is very true with tao, however watch for low ground blade. You’ll have to react fast to get the fuck and not get CH. CH IS BAD.
I’m down for more games with anyone. Add me on xbl trophyclub. I do have some matchup problems with tager even though I’ve been playing mostly since arcade release, except the whole moving back to DTX, ugh.
my main problems
arakune getting me in the corner
smart jin players ( doesn’t happen often )
smart v-13 players ( see above )
To whoever said you cant block super on wake up, its because your trying to roll. If you neutral tech, and dont hit directions, you should be able to block it fine. If its the multi sword super your talking about. The other super is OH, which someone mentioned already.
p.s. I’m not on anyone’s side but needless to say, I’m one of the many people who got sick of the " how do you hold your fightstick threads" I almost didn’t want to get back on srk after this SF4 fiasco BS.
Someone made a great post alluding what was happening on SRK with interrupting a physics symposium. You have to know the theory of relativity in order to attend one. To be said, this is NOT the place for complaining about anything. We like to get things done, not have a tier cry party.
also: a really good word of advice, probably the best and it’s not my advice. Someone gave it to me when I started out back circa 2k2. If you hate a character and have problems with them, learn how to play them really well and that will generally solve your problems. It’s logical if you ask me. I had problems with good jins, so im learning more and more jin, then end.
