You don’t have to be forceful about it at all. Just let people know that you have an actual arcade board and will soon have a whole arcade setup just for this game, so if they want to come around, trade contact information.
As for that setup, guaranteed that shit is at least 4F of lag lol. I wish I was there just to try some shit on it. Yang’s Cl.MP > S.LK link comes to mind. I think it’s a 1-2F link. If you can do that on visual reaction, it’s decent.
Definitely ask every player not just if they’ve played the game before but if they’ve played it on an arcade machine. Try to hold your excitement and not bombard them about your legit setup all at once.
The next step might be huge with informing them bat tops have gone the way of the dodo, but get over the first hurdle which could be difficult in and of itself, talking to everyone during the hectic stuff of the tournament. Oh and you’re not the only one of your crew going right?
So if you’d win even with the lag or something against way less experienced players (there were fun stuff on which characters get more buff on a bad setup in offline lag) and have that new problem with home rules dudes at worst if you went alone or something and its a this guy vs “us” thing. And then you and your regulars can split up that ‘workload’ of talking to every player to gauge more interest in your scene!
So its not a “this guy came in beat us all = salty, then wants all the players to play at his house,” when the reason they did the tournament was to get more customers in the door, really. Since more setups for a tournament is always good, don’t see why they would turn down bringing in more setups at no cost to them.

You referring to what I said in the pad thread about Urien? That isn’t because of the dpad exactly, it’s because OE accepts right thumb stick inputs, but prioritizes left side inputs… Basically, hold charge with right stick, then inputting toward on the dpad will equal a perfect, non neutral charge move input, reducing the TTTH down to an easy-ish combo (still have to partition by moving the right stick from db to b or b to db…). However, for some reason… You only get three “perfect” charges before it decides you aren’t charging anymore… hard to explain like that… But for instance, with Remy, trying to do more than 3 LoVs with the right stick constantly at back doesn’t work… you need to move the right stick to a different position first… An oddity that isn’t too useful… seems I’m fairly good at finding things like that lol.

It was a big deal with some examples, of retaining charge somehow in this game even without charge partitioning! Walk forward Sonic Boom maybe, but I distinctly remember Balrog examples with a Xbox pad, put on video and I think it was patched out. PSN remains one patch removed from what Xbox got for SF2:HD Remix.

I was just going to say in there, I use the thumbstick for doing Gouki MK Divekicks, because the Xbox pad is so mushy. And he needs a direct down, not just any down direction, like Alex Dive. So what I was doing doesn’t compare to your skills, but I first did something like that with a Dreamcast controller before to walk while also moving around menus, using DPad and Thumbstick at the same or nearly the same time. So you wouldn’t have to think you were the only one switching between them, precedents set out there, if it can be used - someone will try it!
& characters in that game, with the first rollback netcode was scary enough
