I know in fba-rr using macro lua, sometimes replaying a set of inputs produces different outputs. I created a macro that loaded from a savestate where player 2 would throw ken out of shippu. When replaying the macro, sometimes shippu would hit, sometimes the throw would hit. It could have something to do with the emulator, but it could also have something to do with when the macro is started.
ps2!
Have no problem with ggpo fba, both side, using frame by frame input or regular real time input.
Unless he was talking about online stuff, which would just means the author is stupid.
On the cab situation, he’s received the money and is prepping it for shipping this week. Pretty close to having a versus city! I’m pretty excited.
A couple questions
1 will Japan look down on me if I get green and blue buttons instead of green and pink
2 how am I supposed to get that thing down a set of stairs
As long as you have an ashtray, I don’t think Japan will care much about the button colors.
Get it down a flight of stairs? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS GUY.
Time to invite every Alaska player over to help move it. On the bright side at least it isn’t going up any stairs!
get the ashtray and ima fuckin book a flight to alaska :smokin::tup::rock:
mad respect to all this work and money you’re investing for the best 3s experience possible. few 3s players i know are that dedicated
Must go pink and green.
thanks, I appreciate the kind words. lol yeah I’m supposed to be saving for a condo! 3s is better than condos though so it’s all good.
Blue buttons are nice.
Do you have a picture of the cabinet?
not yet! when it gets up here I’ll post pictures or maybe shakey cam match footage lol. I went with pink and green. figure if we’re gonna put this much effort in might as well do it right. now to track down some ashtrays.
start button always yellow?
BYOB
Beer, backup blue buttons. Lots of B’s.
Or I guess you have the supergun setup with the blue if need be, just in case. You’ll feel like an arcade owner when someone tells you a button isn’t working and you have to open it up.
I have no idea how any of it works tbh. if isotopez isn’t around and a button breaks we are out of luck. that’s why I have to be nice to him forever.
most ppl connect the buttons with quick disconnects. if theres a mechanical failure with a button, pull out the qds, replace the button, put the qds in the new button. basically foolproof once the initial wiring is done. if you were just joking then nvm.
Yellow or color matched is fine. Do you have the standard Versus City panel artwork? I have that on my stick, but I went with yellow ball/buttons.
*Edit: and actually, now that I’ve read your post again, I’d recommend going with the yellow 24mm start button. Just for the authenticity.
I’m not sure yet. when it comes in I’ll know for sure. there’s 3s-specific panel artwork too right?
on a different subject - a local card and game shop is hosting a 3s tournament. I’m not really familiar with the hosts so I don’t think they’re heavy into the game. so good news I suppose!
here’s the bad end - as people who aren’t heavy into the game, they’re bringing a console + a 42" HDTV to play on as the official setup. I offered to bring CPS3 + CRT and they pretty much brushed me off.
how do you guys handle the equipment situation? I’m sure I’m not the first person to run into this kind of thing. I’m not gonna skip the tournament, it seems really useful to hopefully meet new players and try to suck them in. but once you combine console and a giant HDTV you are probably looking at like 4-5f of lag. so it’s pretty silly. think I should just show up and not mention the setup? I think if I push this too hard I’ll leave a sour taste in the mouths of people who just want to hold a tourney for a game they like.
sounds like some guys who havent touched a sf game since CE was in the local 7-11. I don’t quite understand why they’d be running 3s as opposed to sf4 and run it on a shitty setup to boot. If you’re not gonna fight em on the seutp I’d at least mention to all the dudes who show up who aren’t running the tournament that you’ve got a real proper setup yourself if they ever wanna jam. the guys running it seem too proud
yeah that’s what I was thinking. I figure I’ve been working at this a couple months and even though I’ve found ~12 players in the city, I’ve found 5 guys who want to play every weekend and get better. so it’s important to take opportunities like this and see if I can meet anyone new. the tournament itself might not be that great but if I bring in even 1-2 people it’s still worthwhile.
