Saw this on a thread in FGD.

While the game is based on the NGPC fighting games from SNK, the way meter management is important and having meter changes matchups remind me of 3rd Strike.

That game looks great. Interesting idea with the frame data bar. Catering to visual learners lol. A broad cross section of character archetypes is attractive too.

I had neo geo pocket colour and the Capcom/SNK fighter on there. It put all game boy fighters to shame. Major nostalgia.

i do not at all understand why that game is being made. even to the stage it has been made already.
why has indie game come to mean bad looking copy of game you played when you were 12.

but why this. practice for developing your skills/knowledge? why do you need money.

Where were you when Dive Kick was announced?

It’s arguable that Divekick is doing something substantial as far as concept and gameplay is concerned. That of which, I’m not sure of…

I really dislike Divekick simply because it’s overexposed and people are taking it seriously (?!). Did it really need a sub-forum too?

Who goes first and why have you come to that conclusion. For the scrubs that think they always need to press jab.

It would make more sense to just nerf the jab instead. Then they’d be forced to focus on the variances off of the optimal timing. Oh look.

The idea of Divekick is genius, in my eyes. Let’s fully utilize the rock-paper-scissors aspect. Less execution to worry about, but you still need to know your spacing, angles, and properties.

after Braid was successful we had stuff like Limbo, And Yet It Moves, and Closure. similar idea and people want to do their own take on it.

I’m not sure what set off the “make games look like NES games” thing. hopefully it doesn’t last too long.

Well I’m going to go for the pixelated look myself, mainly because in fluid motion it looks awesome and also because it’s a lot easier and makes for more precise controls. Though, in my case it’ll be mostly about easier because it’s turn-based and so timing won’t be too much of an issue. At least not in that sense.
