i don’t know which is better, but so far it seems like they’re just different. in bad connections ggpo would ramp up frameskip and drop inputs. in bad connections on OE, the game will rollback severely and make sound effects that weren’t supposed to happen. it seems like a cross between ggpo and arclive, if you’re familiar with that.

Dip switches are exactly that: switches that were built into motherboards (in this context, arcade boards) that enabled you to change certain settings beyond what a normal config menu would do.
In the Anniversary Collection, the ‘dipswitches’ menu was known as ‘System Direction’. They’ve simply renamed it to be closer to what it does.

gamespy is probably involved with the matchmaking end. they’ve been doing that shit for a loooooooong time now with gamespy arcade way back when. like msn zone and shit. before games had ingame server browsers.
shame if it messes stuff up. on 360 i assume it would be microsoft handling the matchmaking so shouldnt be an issue really?

something weird happened. i won a match in a lobby and the guy dropped right as the match ended. while the lobby was refreshing the player list, my name wasn’t even on there. seems like a lot of strange things happen in the lobbies.
edit: damn. what i just described raised my d/c ratio apparently.

By the way, if you are on a tube TV you obviously only have the screen options for arcade cabinet and normal size. Normal size fills up the whole screen and arcade cabinet is a bit smaller, but on neither size can you see the challenges show up as you do them.
