I’m having a hard time looking for them as well. Except for situational ones after HK Gekiro (crouchable btw), I haven’t been able to find anything.

So mantis U1 can be used to punish alot of things on reaction, lots of you probably already know this but for those that don’t i might aswell write down some of the stuff it punishes, don’t think there’s a writeup of it on the forums. Some of it is pretty straightforward and most characters can punish it with their ultras, but since Gens travels fullscreen alot of this stuff catches people offguard:
Bison: devils reverse, as soon as you see the purple glow on his hands do U1. Followup after headstomp, do it late so you have time to see if he goes behind you or not.
Adon: jaguar tooth (the one where he goes off the wall), U1 as soon as you see him go to the wall.
Akuma: teleport, don’t do it as soon as you see it, wait a few frames or the U1 will whiff. Air fireball when done at a high point in his jump.
Zangief: PPP lariat, U1 as you see him do it (i think this works, done it a few times correct me if i’m wrong).
Honda: headbutts, buttslams on the way down.
Blanka: blanka balls, backstep ball if you predict he will land on you or in front of you. You can also Crane U1 Blankas Ultra 1 after blocking the initial low hit.
Ibuki: Possible to U1 most of her kunai mixups on wakeup, she can make it whiff if she knows you will do it however.
Seth: His walljump can be U1:d on reaction.
Gen: All ogas except the “up” one’s. Even a canceled one can be punished by U1 on reaction.
Sakura: Kinda hard but all ground Tatsus, I believe EX is the only one they’re atleast semi-likely to throw out from abit of a distance if they get cocky.
Oni: His chargespin move (don’t know the name) if he decides to get gimmicky.
Yun: all lunge punches.
Abel: His axe kick.
Sagat: Tiger knee if you got the reactions for it.
E. Ryu: Teleport.
Guile: Second hit of sweep, do U1 after blocking the first hit (universal but most people forget about this).
Vega: walldive that lands on you or in front of you. You can usually do it late to see where he will land.
Balrog: Turn punch (and fullscreen dash punches).
Fei: Chicken wing (st.mp works just aswell but U1 is flashier).
T. Hawk: Condor dive, condor spire if you got fast reactions.
Hakan: Oil, don’t think it’s possible to punish light version on reaction.
I’ll add just a couple one… which I think is rather useful
Akuma: when he stays distant and shoots the fireball while jumping . U1 will catch him as soon as he lands.
plus, against Hakan: if you quickstand after a knockdown and he thinks he can safely oil up on the other side of the screen because you’re too distant. Super works for sure, I should check the ultra…
Doesn’t Hakan have a quick recovering version of the oil up move? Can’t remember but if he does, it’s a pretty risky move to attempt wake-up U1 on oiling up Hakan. It could be a bait.
And this is kind of random but I just noticed Evil Ryu’s crouching MK has the same animation as Gen’s Mantis crouching MK, lol.
E.Ryu’s cr.MK motion is more similar to shoto’s cr.MK in 3rd strike: putting both his hands on the ground. Gen seems to “slide” and puts one of his hands high up for some reason, which actually puts him in high profile during recovery (unlike shoto’s cr.MK, whose hurtbox gets even lower during recovery)

if the opponent has dp and if he knows it works few people react that way when they see the ultra animation… they prefer to block, at least in my experience
What is the best Universal combo from a cr light attack? Preferably one into TC? Cba trawling combo threads.

also there is cLK cLP sMP sMK hands, or cLK cLP sMP lk gekirou
Some characters can be hit with TC2 HK gekiro for untechable knockdown like Seth, Makoto, Dudley, Sagat, THawk
Honda can be hit with sMP sHP into HK gekiro
isn’t cr.lk cr.lp, st.mp cr.mp hands more damaging?
I’m not fussed about minor damage differences. I only say TC2 because I like the Oki you get from Gekiro.
I actually prefer hands over oki for Gen, his oki is weak (unsafe crane j.mk right?) And his corner pressure is great
His mantis j.MK is deadly from the right range. It’s even more difficult to see than Blanka’s damn j.MK and delay SRK is extremely difficult. Like I said before, his mantis j.MK and crane j.HK is difficult to defend against on wake-up (by defend I mean block or reversal or w/e. Focus dash is always possible tho). I do agree that crane j.MK is really unsafe (can be hit by a SRK that is not auto-corrected lol) and lately I’ve been only using it rarely against someone like Vega or for air-to-air due to its extremely fast start-up (CHs a lot, tho j.HP is much better)
Talking about offline btw. My online mode playstyle is vastly different from my offline playstyle.

Also. What are the benefits of going into hands? I’m lost with this haha, I’m guessing you can’t do s.MK > Hands now?
