I mean I’ve only been in the lab for 2 minutes to test out TC1 and TC2. that’s it. Still need to get them into my muscle memory. But god damn, they aren’t even trying you can tell how easy their wins come.
LoL Yun & Yang are Straight victim’s… you’re really losing to them? Lmao Seriously? Ultra 2 hands owns dive kick. Gen has an answer for everything they have. Play smarter Messiah ex gekiro their dive kicks and mix them up. All of their moves are VRY punishable on block.
Lmao, they aren’t super punishable
And, if your reactions are good enough from what I can tell, Mantis U1 blows up divekicks too. I was hitting them for free online. I’ll test in the lab later.
ex gekiro owns yun & yang’s pressure setup’s… I ALMOST lost to one really good yang last night but it was more like a miraclous comeback he was having because Gen’s new buff’s were completely destroying him. Gen is incredible in AE never has it been so easy to eviscerate the competition.
hey hey lots of stuff… stuffs crane ultra 2 but has hurricane kick always done it or is this in someway the lower box on it leaving it open to more of teeth cringing irritation. hurricane kick killed me… not a reaction one either. he hurricaned i jumped. ultra’d and … wait im dead? huh? so was it something i just never had happen before or is this new to AE? (been thrown out of it before (air throw)
EX Gekiro does not completely destroy them, especially after being knocked down (they can meaty dive kick you then block EX Gekiro), and 3 of their specials give a knockdown, so simply saying don’t get knock down wouldn’t cut it against Yun. Yang I don’t mind that much.
IMO, super Gen wouldn’t have had a harder time dealing with the twins, since you really don’t want to get in their face (and TC only works in close range). He improved a lot, but saying Yun and Yang are his victims may be too much.
You could always get air thrown out of U2, except the throw needs to be timed well. Oh and Guy can EX air Izuna your Crane super and Crane U1 as well. I’m wondering whose hurricane kick you’re talking about. Ryu? Ken? Akuma? Gouken? Air or grounded?
grounded ryu hurricane kick. not an EX ot anything. and yes as for airthrows it was once by guile. once by guy. once by vega. all in super not AE so i guess its still doable. disgusting indeed.
p.s didnt even see that was yous treet. when do i get to kick you into the heavens again! oldschool rematches
Street you’ve been ex Izuna droped out of crane super?? I’ve never played a guy with an execution that fast. PLUS who randomlyex U1’s??? That is asking to get bodied. Yun & yang’s dive kick isn’t on the level of rufus’ I’ll admit they CAN destroy gen but a good Gen can just fa dash out of their dive kick pressure. It should be hard for them to get a knockdown on yuo if you Zone them out they HAVE to rush you down Gen can outpoke and counter them ALL day. and if they want to go on the other side of the screen and gain meter. with that palm move? U2 for the win. If you aren’t using ultra 2 you’re not maximizing all of GEN’s potential. In my opinion… any battle using Gen is going to be an uphill battle but the more options you have the better your chances. Personally I’ve had no problems jab kick medium kick target combo is a godsend.
You caught a bad break man. try to have it so the tip of Gen’s foot hit’s there head not the tip hitting there arms or feet. any well timed normal can stop or trade with it. you probably did it from 2 far away as well.
idk man never seen it happen before ive captured plenty of shotos like that, countless. never saw that happen. im gonna try to recreate it sometime to see if its another worry
Lol rick. hope to face you soon again. And yeah, like iLL said, try to hit their heads. It should be Okay then.
About getting Crane Super grabbed, it was in Super and not AE so I cannot watch replay anymore to see if he timed it or mashed it like crazy. I think he just timed it on point tho. Seeing how Crane Super and U1 have strike hitbox (and not throw), and how EX Izuna is strike invincible only for 5 or so frames, I do understand how he did it, but it was just insane.
I’m not saying Yun and Yang necessarily destroy Gen. I am saying Gen doesn’t destroy them. I bodied some and got bodied by some, but idk what I’m going to say when those two are fully developed in the hands of good players. Just watch out for palm faints when using U2, they recover faster than a freaking sonic boom. I think it’s important that everyone should always go A2A when Yun or Yang jumps, considering their fast jumps (as fast as Blanka!) and of course, minimum height req on dive kicks. LK Gekiro should beat the dive kick, but would lose to jump-in normals. Lol with VS dive kicks on wake-up, but being able to do wake-up focus change stance would alter this match-up heavily. I’m having more problems with Yun than I have with Yang. Yang seems to be fine, and I like the fact that he has a Roll + Gekiro mixed special move.
Yesterday I somehow hit Yun out of his palm from some distance away with LK gekiro. Gonna have to see how this happened.
IMHO, Crane U1 could be used as a raw AA as well, and should be when needed. It has an advantage over Mantis U1 that even someone who empty jumps cannot block it.
the replays from super still work
sorry guys. wanted full time main gen, but that yun match is gonna be retarded in a few weeks. i suggest you guys screw around with yun in endless just to see how easy it is for him to keep pressure, and see how simple his combos are
IMO the only thing that will keep the match away from 8-2 for yun is that you can pressure him really good provided you knock him down or can get your offense going first
i’ll still play gen as a secondary, but i cant willingly take him into tourney play with at least 3 good players in my scene switching to yun
oh well. guess im gonna go down poking til i retire from the depression which is gen. i refuse to bother with any other characters. this is what i get for liking the lore of a character.
thus far i haven’t lost to any yangs or yuns but i strongly assume its just players trying them out for the first time., i seem to be able to pressure them all and oga ceiling drops atleast once per person who went for the palm striking meter gain,
i think gen will do pretty well overall. he wont be fighting all losing matchups or anything. i think he is in fact much better in AE than he was in super. but that one match will make a big difference in tourneys if you dont have a good counter pick for yun as a secondary
o ya, I completely forgot I can revert back to Super. Well, I know I won’t lol.
He got zero nerfs, he’d better do better. Makoto matchup got much worse imo.
Crane c.MK can dodge any mid-screen lunge punch if you don’t have time to neutral jump (then again they probably will just get reset). If you whiff though you might be in trouble, or will be at even.
Probably mentioned, but it’s really simple to do hands from TC. Just press LP at the same time you hit the medium kick after fierce, and then you can simply just mash out fierce to get hands. No piano or sliding required.
You don’t even need to use LP, actually. You can just mash HP+MK the entire way through. HP has the input priority for the first hit, and then input priority is ignored for the target combo.
Good call Yeb
good tip
