aww that second set was almost yours. not to bad imo man, you did better than I did when I was attending a local tourney last year. I was dealing with this good sakura and he bodied me quickly in the first set. I had to get myself together and take the second but when it came down to our last set in the last round I lost sadly haha. I got two tourneys this month…one AE arcade and the other ps3. I hope I do better.

I’m in fact the opposite. I play on ps3, the ranbat is mostly held on xbox. I ALMOST ALWAYS did s.MP -> c.MK lolz. The fact that I do links based on visual aspect, rather than rhythm, didn’t work out in a nice way.

I do that as well. I have timing down, but my main driver on how I play is visual. I watch Gen’s animations and my opponents animations and reach to them accordingly. I have both Super for both PS3 and 360 and had to pick one, I chose 360. I went back to PS3 before the outage and it took me about 10 tries to get it down. I can see it being visually different from 360. Maybe it’s me, and I’m not the only one, but I’ve always been able to see a difference when playing video games from 33fps to 59fps on my PC.

It’s something we have to live with, but it’s something that sucks that we have to live with.

lol, 360 is slower than PC and PS3 is faster than PC lol!, I see that when I play. if I am to choose I prefer the PS3

It doesn’t always have to do with the consoles. It’s coding as well. Some games were designed on one system (mainly Arcade) and ported to others.

There is a lot to what causes both 360 and PS3 to act differently. Mainly it’s hardware. Probably one of the biggest problems is Post-Processing with HDMI connections.

…which gekiro is better for AA?

i know Lk gekiro is good with the correct spacing, but will Hk gekiro hit an apponent if they are sorta above you?.. because the hit box’s are different so i was thiking that there must be some uses for the other gekiro’s.

what ya’ll think?

Ex is best for AA

Lk works for far jumps if they land in the horizontal hitbox

Hk works if you do it early and they land on the tip of his foot. Works well against Bison headstomp.

if they Neutral jump EX or HK. Never LK, it doesn’t come up high enough, and if they are coming down it will stuff it.

so… if an apponent is jumping over you and i use HK gekiro… would it hit them? … sorry of thats abit vague. :confused:

each has a really different hitbox, so they have different applications at different ranges. Think about how Dhalsim AA’s according to the placement of the opp. Search for the hitbox thread and see what they mean about each Gekiro having a specific application. e.g. lk.gekiro has a faster startup so it may be a better reversal option and answer to some safe jumps and the hitbox is closer to his knee so it’ll AA lower jump-ins.

IMO Gekiro is only a good AA vs characters which high apex jumps. Like Sim, Chun, Bison etc. I would stick to using normals like PPP s.HP vs characters like Rog who have funny hittable/hitbox information when they jump in.

For the High apex jumping characters, mk and hk are the better options.

giekros are pretty good against dive kickers too, imo. it can be hard to AA them with normals because they can mess up your timing with the trajectory changes

^ true story, that or instant air normals. Like neutral jump KKK j.HK, or jump back j.HK. Even PPP j.HP

i just got messaged back about gens AE frame data.

theres nothing changed with frame data in AE that we didnt find out in the developer blogs. any crane normal changes that they spoke of, must be hitbox related

Hk Gekiro I found in Vanilla to be solid at shutting down Rufus’ air game, in Super (havent had chance to test AE) HK seems to trade alot more.

Against dive kick spam, Mantis S.Mp works great. But it’s distance specific and what you’re comfortable. Long Jumps Hk Gekiro, close quarter AA S.mp works great and if you’re unsure and need to risk something Lk Gekiro’s hitbox will trade with 90% on aerial attacks, if you can spare health then go for it :S.

Lk Gekiro is 2 frames faster so if you’re panickan-skywalkering use Lk ver :stuck_out_tongue:

@ HNIC Mike: Cool Stuff man, not so cool Capcom. I’m guessing they didn’t change the -17 on Crane C.Hk.

Or something on counter. Being able to link CH Crane s.HP (against focus) with HP hands could be useful for canceling into super.

Btw, is the data from Arcadia mook? If so, there are likely many wrong informations (I heard Blanka’s surprise forward has exactly same information written down as SSF4 console, while the dev blog clearly stated that it changed). I still have hopes.
