oh just to add. EX roll works as an escape.
Does it? I thought her kunai was one of those weird faux projectiles. I’ll try it out.
And if you guys don’t mind the quality, I’ll keep making videos.
Well, I will regardless, but at least I’d have support hahaha
ok so i figured out a way to parry that seems do-able for people like me who dont have lightning hands. it will still take a lot of practice, but its definately easier. my success rate has increased tremendously
you have to plink. its kinda tricky, but i’ll post some details later. the harder part now appears to be the timing of the absorb rather than the speed of the stance change
Yea, Ibukis Kunai is not a projectile. But Fei’s Rekka is. Haha!
The best thing I can say to help you out against Ibuki, is “block”. I probably do more blocking and patiently waiting for an opening against her than any other character in the game. I think you will find that she is very easy to block all of her “safe” mix-ups. most of which end in her kicks. If you stay strong on your blocks you will force the Ibuki player to go to an unsafe mix-up, and thats when you can strike. She has low health too so when you hit her it will hurt. Just be patient and do everything you can to keep her from getting the knockdown. I say in this match-up, it really only takes one mistake from either side to decide the match.
I know blocking is the best thing to do, but there are always other options. And Gen can outfootsie her all day, she gets a knockdown off being random though.
I practiced the FASC a lot towards the end of vanilla. I tried many different short-cuts and what not. I have to say that (at least for me) the best way is to just hit mp+mk then hit PPP or KKK. its a 5 frame window, so its not too tight. I personally think the hardest part is timing when to press the mp+mk. Try to think of timing the mp+mk at the moment you are going to get hit.
And practice a lot!
wasnt this always the case?
not to me. i always tried to just press the buttons as fast as i could. i also read someone say something about sliding your fingers…
no one actually said just plink it or listed any method that didnt seem like you needed an extra finger
You don’t need to plink it at all. But I really don’t see why you wouldn’t though, because of ridiculous finger acrobatics you would have to do otherwise. It’s like doing vipers sjc cancel ultra without buffering the first qcf between the normal hits, possible but why?
Hey, I found this while doing some research, thought it was interesting (PLUG, PLUG):

I think it’s just because the actual motion of the hitbox is really slow even though it’s startup is incredibly fast so you can space a jump in to avoid it. Compare to Ryu’s super which has the same issue or Hakan’s U2 which can’t be safe jumped at all since the hitbox is big and immediate.
That is very interesting and well put together. Especially about the meaty safe jumps vs. different wake-up options.
blah I’ve totally lost interest in fighters as of late. I’m still working on that video but to play them, damn it’s the same shyte over and over online. Either they mash, or they lag. Starting to get annoying. Back to Bad Company 2 and Black Ops.
You play Bad Company 2? Dude! Get on my friend’s list!
on pc?
PSN. Aww well.
ya sorry. I only play FPSers on PC.
I feel your pain man. Evevn MVC3 is getting a bit annoying expect instead of mashing & lagging…it’s running & lagging lol. I haven’t touch ssf4 in long while until today feels so different coming back to it. I wish I had a shooter to play but I don’t know what to get maybe crysis 2 (shrugs).
Been working on a few logos for some friends web-sites and had a minute to do this simple logo that I’ll probably use for my videos. Nothing special and nothing close to my photoshop abilities but I like it because it’s simple yet gets the point across.
I was working on a new mix-up. Give me some comments about it.
Close (Mantis) cr. wp 2x, (Crane) cr. wk xx wk. Oga:
1) (toward opponent), neutral or down (acts as a “safe” jump), throw or Mantis lk…
2) (away from opponent), deep ceiling drop on tech’ed knockdown OR ceiling drop, neutral meaty safe jump.
how do you do the slaps > fadc> combo? how many actual hits of the slaps are supposed to connect. I tried last night whilst grilling some salmon for 3 minutes and gave up and played dragon age 2.
