I went from 4000pp to 2850pp what the hell is wrong with me sometimes. It’s like I just get zoned out while I play, I look at the screen and I see what’s going on but I just have no intention of playing footsies or whatever really. Fucking points I wish they didn’t exist because knowing myself I’ll porbably want to get all of them back and play through the night to get it.
Does anyone else have trouble focussing on 1 character? I just can’t do it. Gen is my favorite but I keep mixing it up with C.viper but I think this is why I keep walking in a wall. I dont know I’m just pissed off right now.
I used to have that problem when I was using multiple characters. Nowadays I use one and I don’t really have trouble with PP and that crap. Once I got to 4kpp I stopped caring for ranked. I just always remember when you fight angry a blind guy can beat you (Words of Jackie Chan :)). I like to take a minute break and cool my head off, even if I can’t feel the anger it’s nice to gather my wits about what went wrong.
I found myself coming back a bit more to Gen now days. I completly snapped with him one night and thought to myself fuck this shit and then I played through a bunch of characters and have landed on Sagat (I genuinly like the king of muay thai lolz… plus he doesn’t break my heart like Gen does… as homosexual as that sounds).
It started with me just messing around in the training room with him trying to be flashy and all that jazz… but oddly enough, that pissing around has actually got me to a level where im VERY rarely dropping links offline (shocking right? put the time in and you get some shit out).
I’m losing BP and PP returning to him to the point I should be declared a scrub, but I imagine that’ll get back on the rise again when I come to grips with him like I used to know the old man. Anyways this post means nothing but I said it anyways. bitches and hoes everyone. holla.
upon further review, it looks like you can land your crane ultra 1 after any lk giekro for 5 hits. as a punnish it nets around 307 with mp, hpxxlkgiekro. im in the process of testing it on all characters. looks like a meterless hitconfirm into ultra tho
edit: i see nightwalker posted it like 5 months ago, but had it after a fadc. and ive seen it in vids, but only on large characters.
yea I knew about this as well, but scaling raped the damage that it I felt it wasn’t even worth mentioning, even for showing off. I have better options if I want to style.
well on the bright side ive gotten it to work on every character ive tried so far. both small and large. it may be worth using in situations where you can punnish with fpxxxlk giekro. if you follow with the ultra you get 316 dmg. thats enough to win a round without burning super meter
Yea this is as old as Vanilla Ice Cream. But there is a good use for it.
AA Gekiro 2 hits U1 works well and gets probably 350 (been a while since I looked) which is good off an AA. Its actually easier to land than from the ground because you aren’t as high up when you fall. So you land sooner, but the major factor is that your opponent doesnt have to be as high off the ground. This is because when you land and do ultra, your opponent isn’t at “terminal velocity” (best way to describe it) so there is a less chance that they fall too fast to catch. You just have to make sure you are in range horizontally!
Too bad pressing punch didn’t automatically cancel Gekiro. EX Gekiro 2 hits Ultra would be sick!!!
Of course there are better options, but for style? That is what Gen is all about. Mixing up your style! So in a sense, there isn’t really a better option for style, because style is just that “STYLE!” Just don’t over use it!
I always keep in mind, during a match, of how I can get a “Rainbow Flashy Background!” -It costs more than its worth, but its an addiction!
If I remember correctly It works on everyone except Cammy. I think I’ve done it to her once but that is out of about 100+ tries and it was in the corner.
Viper Matchup: What do you guys think of Crane Super as an anti-Burn Kick move?
I haven’t played much Gen (or SSF4) in a while so I’ll let the more experienced players discuss this. I’ve never seen it used but it seems perfect to beat any burn kicks, on wakeup or not. And it counter hits
I personally never thought about it actually, Mantis Super is too useful for me. Btw, Crane Super doesn’t benefit from counter hit, just like how his Mantis U1, Crane U1, and Crane U2 don’t.
Well it’s all a personal choice man. I wouldn’t hate on you wanting to use it. But if I wanted to style. My style of gen is a different type. I like to go for stylist combos, don’t get me wrong. But I like to use other ones. Just my way of playing. No hating bud, just giving my opinion
For me style is punishing things with obscure non-sense involving a set up.
For Example you train a Bison that you will always attack on wake up. Later on during the game you whiff a st.lp and back dashing. If the bait works EX Psycho Crusher happens and I punish with Crane Ultra 1 winning the game. Of course that is shennanigins, until you start punishing those moves on reaction.
A bit off-topic but I don’t post any where else on these boards. We are hosting a local tournament and I was asked to do a flyer. I didn’t have time to so anything crazy. Especially how busy I’ve been with school. But here is what I have so far.
