This thread goes onto my nightstand. Thanks for the work to sum up the information.
Can I get some tips on how to combo cr.mp to hp hands? I cant do it fast enough for it to combo.
There are a lot of ways that Iām sure will be suggested. The way I do it is basically pianoing my fingers over the 3 punch buttons, starting with hitting mp with my middle finger and then rolling my other fingers on the other buttons. Kind of like drumming your fingers on a table.
Okay, I tried what you said and its working but now Ex hands keeps coming out.
Edit: Nevermind, I got it! Thanks for your help.
What I do is:
mp-hp-lp-mp-hp
If I want to get EX hands I hit PPP instead of HP at the end.
MP > LP > MP > LP > HP
Best Method IMO. Makes FADC damn easy afterwards.
Hands last pretty long I donāt think FADCing should be an issue (?). I think you should go with whatever is most comfortable/consistent for you.
Thanks Iāll give it a shot
Another easy variation on cr.mp hands is to do mp, lp, hp, lp, hp.
Hands
Cr. Strong, Jab, Jab, Strong, Fierce (the key is to break this into two motions which you do quickly, Strong + jab, then all 3)
S. Forward + jab, strong, fierce, strong, fierce (two motions again)
Cr. Forward + jab, strong, fierce, strong, fierce (two motions again)
ways to do tc2 to hands
cr short, cr jab, plink s fierce and s strong, forward + fierce 3x
cr short, cr jab, plink s fierce and s strong and s jab, mk + jab, fierce
cr short, cr jab, plink s fierce and s strong, forward + jab + fierce 2x -> sweep
good cross up on some chars
Forward throw -> wiff crane normals (cr strong / cr jab) -> Walk forward Lk Oga -> Gekiro / Sweep / super / ultra
Interesting moves
Backthrow in the corner, dash 1x, Ultra 1
Sweep at max range, Backdash, Ultra 1 (dont recommend, but It did work in a tournament)
Mantis Ultra 2 -> ex oga (char specific)
Backthrow, wiff crane s roundhouse, Backthrow, Walk backwards a bit, Jump Mantis Mk (safe on some, ambiguous on others, unblockable)
Forward throw, Dash 1x, wiff cr jab or s strong, Jump forward mantis forward (safe on >3, safe on ryu if fast enough but j mk wont hit)
Foward throw them to the corner, delay for 1ms, any oga to wall away from them, then drop on their head. If timed right will cross up.
Cross up ogas after lk gekiros
There are several factors to account for.
- the size of the enemy hit box
- Prediction of quickstand
- The height of the gekiro
- the strength of the oga
So say I hit tc2 to lk gekiro on ryu
- its ryu, med siz, but good for cross up ogas. other chars have hitboxes that wont work (guile able ect)
- I think he will
- If he quickstands then I must juggle high
- mk oga
So here is one I made for fei
Fei Long
TC2 Gekiro
Knockdown---------------Normal------------------Height---------------Strength
Quckstand:-------------------------------------------Juggle Middle------(Forward Oga)
H Knockdown:āCrane Cr. Roundhouse-----Juggle Middle------(Forward Oga)
So see with fei I will always juggle medium. If he quickstands immediately forward oga, if not crane roundhouse then forward oga. The thing is that you must predict which one he will do. Assuming the quickstand is usually ok because if he doesnāt wake up quickly you will be safe. Beware attempting these on certain chars. Hereās viper too, I feel generous
C. Viper
TC2 Gekiro
Knockdown----------Normal---------------Height-------------Strength
Quickstand:----------------------------------Juggle High-------(Forward Oga)
H Knockdown:-Crane Cr. Fierce-------Juggle High-------(Forward Oga)
When testing these one must set gen on record and test the blocking manually. the reason for this is that blocking effects the positioning on the hitbox.
Also when discovering crossups for new characters here is a flow chart
- Set quickstand or not
- tc 2 into lk gekiro Juggle low
- Use lk Oga
If Gen hits the character from the front adjust the juggle height higher. The higher you juggle them the farther they will land away from you. If you juggle all the way to highest and there is still no cross up possible, then go to mk oga and start from juggle low and work your way up. Remember to test for both quick rise and its negation, no quick rise.
However those are just cross ups. Before attempting those one must have a grasp on hands and basic combos and gekiros.
For beginning I would recommend this
Cr strong into hands 10x
S forward into hands 10x
Cr short, Cr Jab, Tc2, Lk gekiro 10x (remember to plink the fierce and strong after cr jab)
Cr short, Cr Jab, Tc2, Hk gekiro 10x (cammy, seth, dudley ect)
Crane Jump Mk, into mantis bnb 10x
Forward throw into safe jump 10x (on fei, cammy, guile, ect)
Then do it all 10x
that is long, but I must swear that I did that while learning viper
<span style=āline-height: normal;ā>So i learned how to do hands combos consistently on ps3 controller were should I post this information to helpĀ peopleĀ out and I can do a video as well since I have a capture card.
go for it bro.
So I guess the Gen section is pretty dead now, heh.
Yeah, the old man gave in to the lukemia. and everyone has jumped ship. putting in the finishing touches on the bible and will be released soon. for what its worth
Hm, dunno, there a some posts each week. Maybe SF4 is just getting old while there are newer games out there like King of Fighters, Skull Girls and Dead or Alive.
Itās so cool, that you guys still work on the bible.
actually losing interest in the game. but some bad guys always want a piece of my Gen. I kick their ass and they swear they will come back. I kick their ass again. hahahhahaa. Gen has grown on me so I just stick around here like an old librarian in an abandoned facility.
To be honest I havenāt touched SF4 since I started up uni again last year, the small amount of time I do have I usually dedicate to Third Strike.
we had a great run boyz. I guess we have to move on now. Warlike, you will always be a great Gen player to me. *sniff *sniff.
Itās funny because I see more Genās now than ever but the forums are pretty much dead. Iāll be repping Gen at Red Fight District - not like we needed that with Xian there though.
