You’ve told me all this on XBL before so that is why I was surprised you weren’t the first one up in arms about the shit lol. First time I’m not optimistic about a new game and someone think I’m calling them into question oh the irony =P.
Gears of War: Judgment - The Guts of Gears Multiplayer Trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm0gZSZQvVA

There sure is a lot of exploding of heads and bodies going on in this trailer…There is one instance of DBNO being shown in versus at 1:16. I"m also going to assume that Cole isn’t able to do what he’s doing at :26 without DBNO.

The biggest thing so far that’s in ‘I don’t know how I feel about this’ territory is that 2 shell sawed off. People were bitching enough about it before…now you get 2 chances…oh ho ho ho boy…
Nope. Both instances you see DBNO is in Overrun, sir. And from what I can gather…unless you have a Medic with Stem nades(or Kantus on Locust side)…you cannot pick your teammates up.

DBNO. Is gone from Versus.

The 2ShotSawed Off. I think they messed with the range. Both times in the video, the shots were at “up their ass” range.

I’m still giving this game a shot. It looks fun. And Gears games always have been.

This game must be why so many people are leaving Epic Games. They don’t want to be paired with this pile of dissapointment. I don’t like any of the new changes really. The only things I would’ve changed from 3 is some stats for sawedoff and the Retro.
I don’t know anyone who likes Gears as much as I do, while caring as little as I do about the multi-player. Horde was a fun diversion, but nothing I’d invest a lot of time into.
Co-op is a lot of fun, that said. The controls of the Gears series are solid, but they don’t lend themselves well to competitive play, IMO.

Judgment got leaked This guy has some vids on his youtube channel that I’m going to look through when I get a chance.
https://www.youtube.com/user/GoWJHq?feature=watch

Edit:…nevermind…his account got bombed.
Epic has been putting out vids of some of the new weapons

Booshka
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7Kf-jRcDWw

Breechshot
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhKSPCWDPRQ

Markza
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLVlbTr3vG4

I love Baird and all but I wish this game was a sequel to 3, and him being in chains had to do with Adam Fenix’s research.
My question is where did all these new weapons go in future titles? Did the Cog just forget they had them somewhere? “Fuck it we got Chainsaws on our guns, GOOD ENOUGH!”

That has always been odd to me about prequels, most cases it makes sense but here from a Military perspective I don’t get it.

The way how I look at it is that as the locust continue to run around Sera creating their havoc then less materials were around to make some of the weapons. Some of those weapons in Judgment look high end militiaristic and you don’t see that as much in the original trilogy.
Never understood how these games get leaked. Buddy of mine has been playing it since the beginning of this month. How do these companies have this stuff happen?
Launch Trailer
You know something I just realized? This game never got one of those ‘artsy’ well done type trailers in the same vein as MadWorld…Kinda miss that…
giving you guys a heads up…reports are coming out that Judgment only comes with 4 multiplayer maps.
I’ve pretty much come to grips that I’m going to be disappointed with this title overall. I have a feeling that I’m gonna play this for the campaign…maybe try out Overrun for a bit and then probably go back to Gears 3.
Edit:
oh yeah…and glitches abound
So just finished playing the demo… This is bad. No. This is abyssmal.
-The game plays like shit. Everything just feels so stiff and clunky. HUGE step back from GoW3.
-It’s laggy. Teleporting back to die, stuck on walls, shots vanishing in midair. Last time I had this amount of bullshit happening, was on GoW2 and that game was awful aswell.
-The game looks like shit.
-The game’s unbalanced. Baird’s turret is mad OP. Try fighting a full team of Bairds and see how much fun this game is. But wait, here comes a full team of tickers that are simply unstoppable and unhittable because of the crap online. All the other classes? Don’t even bother using them. Maybe use Cole so you can give out ammo to teammates and that’s it.
Easily the worst Gears yet. I was a huge Gears fan and it hurts to see this franchise kill itself like this.
I had the feeling they pooped this one out for a quick buck. Seems to be the current trend for most franchise games these days.
Baird Turrets vanish after 10 seconds or sooner if you take them out from a distance(also if he deploys one right in your face you can destroy it before it even happens). Then there is a 20 Second cooldown before he can throw another one. During that 20 seconds the only thing he can do is close range and repair shit. The turrets are your best defense vs Smaller locusts (who have very high mobility) Cole is your best overall offense. The Booshka is the closest thing to Frag nades the cog have and he has the ability to re-supply himself. The fact you can bounce them off walls give them versatility.
Tickers are SUPER strong to offense on Locust, ESPECIALLY if a Grenadier feeds him a frag at spawn (or he eats a Booshka round fired by cole) once they eat an explosive. Regardless if you kill them or they explode themselves, their eaten explosive will drop out about 1 second later and detonate anyway. The Tanks on their back have no hitbox. So you have to shoot them in the body. Turrets that catch them, the Marksa, Lancers, and Kicking them with B are your best bets at making quick work out of them.
Now. If you want to talk an OP mother fucker…Grenadier is OP IMHO. He has a fast regenerating frag nade that he can toss over and around structures and start doing damage to the E-Hole Cover/Generator without even giving 2 shits about the fortifications in his path. He can play Close range with Gnasher and Support with Lancer whenever he damn well chooses. And he is a starting locust. So he doesn’t cost anything. Team about 2 or 3 with a Kantus on Heal and you can probably do over 50% damage to the objective in each Grenadier’s first thrown frag nade.(not to mention…multiple kills)
Then again. I actually like the mode and the game so far. However…there are some decisions I DO NOT like…
Apparently. Most of the Armor and Weapons Skins are only obtainable by buying them. If you want all of them…Epic is asking $50. Yeah. $50. For skins. The Season Pass is about the only thing that “feels” justified. As its only $20. Pays for the 2 future DLC map packs(and gives you early access to them) as well as gives you some skins…It also give you access to a special playlist called VIP. Which is only accessible to Pass owners and grants Double XP when you play VIP. So Once again…out the gate, Epic is alienating customers.
On the DLC side of things…This is poor as fuck. And shows highly that yep. this game is grabbing for all your last minute, current gen moneys. I got the game. I’m probably still going to enjoy it. Probably not going to invest in any DLC that I have to pay for this time though.
I’ll probably get to this game soon with my wife when im not monster huntin.
Is it better than 3? That’s really all that matters lol.
Content wise? Nah. Gears 3 was packed with content. And even in the end, I don’t think Judgment will come close. Waaaaay too much nickel and diming on skins, Cosmetic sure. I could accept it if GoW’s MP was F2P. But it is not. Sooooooo…yeah. Micro-transaction business model does not fly with me well on a $60 game.
The actual game though. The game is different. Straight up. Has 2 full campaigns. Overrun is actually very fun. The rest of the MP is different and feels stripped in terms of whats there. However. The game is still gears and is still a rage inducing blast to play. Only 8 maps shipped. but 4 are exclusive to Overrun(Skyline, Junkyard, Estate, Island). so that leaves 4 others(Library, Streets, Gondola, Rig) for the other modes(TDM, Domination, FFA). They’re not bad, But sad its only 4.
I’ve been with the franchise since GoW1. And I’m heavily enjoying what I’ve been playing. Shit still feels like Gears to me. Can’t wait for Execution’s return in April(Free DLC)
