In my experience with KoTH(about 30 games in quick and 10 in Ranked) everyone is just throwing smokes in the area and running in with Sawed-off. You can’t really do shit about that as a team because you have to be in the shit hole or they’re gonna take the capture. And if the whole other team is persistent with the SOS you’re gonna get shredded no matter how hard you try. Some captures are near good cover points but most are in the wide open.
CTL is the only time I see it wise to really dig in and work as a team. But even then the smoke grenade can prolong the match to boring proportions.
Eh…After the hill has started to be captured I gnerally hover around the hill and not in it. There’s always someone who runs straight for the hill not minding the person with the shotgun around the corner on the way to it.
Execution is VERY team based. You need to decide how many rush weapon x, how many rush y, and sometimes z. If you send too many to one and give up the other two for free you can get fucked.
Execution is Gears to me. TD feels like COD (The shittiest players I have played against play TD), KOTH while it has some team based qualities, like you said a lot of the times its just non stop smokes and S/O’s. Capture the leader is a pretty good one.
Yea thats understandable. New Gears players want to play TDM because they don’t like the idea of waiting a round if they get killed early. I feel like once COD and BF3 come out you will see little drop in TDM and a little raise in Execution.
All I play is Execution, but I only play it because I feel like its less team-based game then the other game-types where you can solo and win and not rely on random teammates to be good or help you out. Also yes Im one of those “solo” guys(I hardly give a fuck about K/D I just want to fuck someone up), but that’s because when your going in by yourself in ranked or social, you cant expect shit from your teammates.
I like to revive someone every once in awhile, not as much as I did in Gears 2 since reviving takes forever in this game lol. I dunno, Ive always seen Gears as a solo game where raw skill and knowledge can take someone out or a whole team out. I find that Gears 3 is more team based then any of the other Gears in general and its alot harder to take out full teams with the marker system implemented and you just get surrounded if your solo.
I forgot to even bring up Beast mode again in the previous post… I finally got to play this with 1 other person the other day. So, is there a way that this mode can even slightly be somewhat balanced between the player(s) and cpu enemies? It starts off as an uphill battle with such a strict time limit, but once you have 1 other person and/or play in a very specific way it goes from being difficult to such a smooth-sailing cakewalk…especially once that 2nd row of creatures is unlocked. The 2nd row brings out the Blood Mount, which owns the hell out of nearly anything on the board in those early levels…time isn’t even an issue at that point since BM moves so fast on top of putting out good damage…heh, not that I’m complaining, of course. Anyway, why use the other creatures when this and a few others are so incredibly good? Every time it’s basically Drone, Drone, Drone–> Blood Mount for awhile, then your God-Mode stuff opens up with Berserker and/or Armored Kantus. You can’t possibly lose with the Berserker since sooo much extra time can be racked up once it destroys literally every fortification within a matter of seconds, then you can pick something else simply for the hell of it.
*sidenote-- I noticed the Kantus/Armored Kantus apparently cannot heal the Berserker? Haha, perhaps some attempt at “balancing” things? That’s funny… I assume this is probably still the least-played mode online due to silly time limit and how short the mode is.
So…“fixing” Beast Mode, imo:
-Add more start time…say 2 or 3 minutes or more?
-Stop the clock for when you are killed and have to select a creature again
-Perhaps add time from previous waves? (e.g.–finish a wave with 22 seconds left and you start the next round with 1:22, finish that with 30 and the next wave is 1:30, or have bonus time specifically added for what the next wave will be? There’s various ways to address this.)
-…Or just remove the time limit completely.
After thinking about it some more… I’m not sure they could really change anything about it that wouldn’t make an already easy mode even more lopsided in the player’s favor. The time limit was most likely implemented to add a bit of challenge…removing it would probably drop the difficulty down to Fable 2 status. (*note— in Fable 2, it is literally impossible to lose…that’s not even an exaggeration. Your character cannot die. It might actually be the easiest game I’ve ever played, though I still enjoyed certain aspects of it.)
i rather like beast mode a lot. its like being able to play some horde when you don’t have 3 straight hours to burn. of course i still need to form a team and take on insane beast to get that savage theron model . . .
also all the beast medals seem to have lower requirements, meaning they level up super fast compared to the other modes
with the big head event on RIGHT NOW, anyway everyone owes it themselves to give big head mode horde a shot. big head grinders need to get made into plush toys by epic and they’ll get so much cash from that.
The whole queen myrrah thing was explained a while ago she was born from a project whichmixed humans dna with locust to make a perfect miner that could get emulsion without being affected by rustlung only one survived and it was her, she escaped and the locust saw her as queen, humans playing around with emulsion causes it to evolve into different states faster causing problems for the locust, queen myrrah decides to take over earth feeling the humans arent deserving of there planets due to her hatred of them and what they done to her
Glitched medals are a bitch, man… unless they patch it, apparently I will forever be without that medal for x number of perfect active reloads. The bronze medal for it is only 100. Well, I passed that mark quite awhile ago, and no medal for me. That also means I won’t get the mutator associated with it.
In other, less annoying news I finally ran thru the end of Arcade mode today…mainly to get the Laugh Track. As expected, it is indeed hilarious.
Laugh track is the beesssst!
active reload fuckin lvl 3 is 10,000! lmao
I hear an easy( easier) way to beat Story is with super reload and infinite ammo!
watch out for a disappointment. there’s a commotion on the epic forums that a. carmine uses clay’s voice files.
its kinda strange since b. carmine has his own unique voice set.
the other thing was that, while looking at some bots, i noticed that the golden characters (hunter, miner and gear) aren’t very gold at all. its just their helmets. can’t they make their armor more gold too or something?
