and Dom’s death made me sad but its like they needed that. He wasn’t Dom in the 1st GOW after they saw their wife and family go. The other gears had family, but not like Dom… People just wanna hate of gears and say their trying to make us cry… its a world were everything gone, of corse its gonna be sad. It’s disappointing that most of the weapon skins look ugly… I’m already reluctant to pay extra money for such a thing in the first place, but the majority of them don’t even look good.(*something that previously has always been a simple “unlockable” item you get for accomplishing certain things in a game…whatever happened to that shit?! Game developers realized what an amazing cash cow “DLC” could be…that’s what happened to it. I guarantee you that MOST major companies will try pushing the envelope even further with DLC on the next console generation, like making you pay for the privilege to fight the “true final boss” or to see the damn ending, all while sad sack bitchmade chumps out there defend the shit like “what, you think you’re entitled to everything?”…it’s all about seeing what you can get away with for extra profits, and each newer generation of gamers seem more and more like a spineless prison bitch that’s ready to gladly bend over for them any time while convincing themselves “eh, it’s not so bad”.)
Too much other stressful stuff going on at the moment… I still haven’t even tried Horde yet… I really should’ve taken off a day or 2 just to have some quality time with this game.
Got to wave 50 last night in horde mode last night. At one point we were down to 3 people and stuck on wave 38 and trying to hold the fort down but it just wasn’t happening. Then we got 2 more people and go all the way up to 50 where we were dying repeatedly to the fuckin Brumak, the lambent Berserker, and Precision Gunk throwing Gunkers with sniping boomers. We ALMOST got lucky on the beach level trying to hold the fort down in a temple area on a beach area. The Brumak got stuck on the beach and was just chilling over there doing the 2 step and it gaveus an opportunity to deal with the cohorts but maaaaaan…after that shit we tried to take care of the Brumak…it was pretty much a rap. Cover can’t hide you from those missiles and the mere moment you pop your head out of makes you a liability. I’m gonna try to go at it again later tonight.
Gears 3 is a solid mix of AR’s and Shotguns. Shotguns still dominate up close obviously but they no longer surpass AR’s at mid range anymore… so you really have to know when to use what.
They added a new shotgun (the Sawed off shotgun) which you will hate for awhile when you start playing because the thing is essentially a noob cannon. If you are close just fire in the vicinity of the other person and its an instant KO… they can seriously be like 90 degrees to your right/left and still die. It doesn’t require aiming, just running up close which isn’t too hard to do.
[details=Spoiler]Well when Baird and Cole meet up with Marcus on Azura, they bring with them people from UIR, another government from back in the pendulum wars. It was never explained past one line by samantha which stated “those are UIR ships” or something along those lines. The story of cole and Baird getting those guys to join the last push is probably going to be DLC.
