Garth Ennis' The Boys

Jings!
Well I decided to read this series, besides my better judgment and…I like it, it has some pretty cool story elements that are pretty interesting for the setting Garth used for this series.
I’ve read up until Good for the Soul, but will read the next TPB when it comes out in July.
TBH i’m rather surprised for some reason, that there isn’t much gore in this book (which is part of the reason I wasn’t considering reading this series), as I thought.
THough the nudity and sex scenes don’t take away from the series much I think…except for maybe that 2nd story arc in TPB 2…yeah that was freaking weird…
Also Frenchman is made of win.

I have every issue. It’s good reading. The creative team is consistent. Ennis and Robertson make a great team. You have to come into it with a different kind of mindset comparing to reading say Marvel or DC comics. It’s quality all the way through.

I won’t spoil anything but let’s just say that the Boys just might get what’s coming to them. Chickens will be coming home to roost.

greatest series ever.

i hate how people seem to think Butcher is a bad guy (happened a lot early on in the series with reviewers, etc)

favorite issue so far is the 9/11 one where the Seven try to save the hijacked plane.

Butcher…a bad guy?
BS, Butcher is THE MAN. HE IS THE MAN OF MEN.
The way he talked to MM’s daughter to stop being a slut and respect her old man was the part that made me like and respect him a lot.
This is the one series where I like all the main heroes (although Female’s my least fav.)
Also “Killer, fuck it”

I just can’t believe 'trixy enjoys something I enjoy. I will now light myself on fire.

Sad face.

i stopped reading after DC pussed out and Dynamite picked it up, but i’ve been dying to get the trades.
