Garou: MOTW Thread

Here are some basic ones to remember:

(Mid Screen) Cross-up :snka:/:snkb:, land, stand :snka:/:d: + :snkb:, :d: + :snkc:, :qcf: + :snkd:/:qcf:x2 + :snkb:/:snkd:.

(Mid Screen) Jump in :snka:, :snkc:, land, dash in quickly, stand :snka:, :d: + :snkc:, :qcf: + :snkd:/:qcf:x2 + :snkb:/snkd:.

(Mid Screen) While opponent gets up do a meaty stand :snkb:, when it hits, :d: + :snkc:, :qcf: + :snkd:/:qcf:x2 + :snkb:/:snkd:. This combos if you time the meaty stand :snkb: just right.

(Mid Screen) Cross-up :snka:/:snkb:, land, close stand :snkd: (1st hit), feint cancel with :d: + :snka: + :snkc: as it hits, dash in quickly after the feint cancel, stand :snka:, :d: + :snkc:, :qcf: + :snkd:/:qcf:x2 + :snkb:/:snkd:. Once you feint cancel quickly dash in to be able to be close enough to combo the stand :snka:, :d: + :snkc: link.

(Mid Screen) Cross-up :snka:/:snkb:, land, :d: + :snkc:, :qcf:x2 + :snka:, before they hit the ground from falling do :qcf:x2 + :snkb:.

(Corner) Jump in :snka:, :snkc:, land, walk in a bit, close (stand :snkd: (1st hit), feint cancel with :d: + :snka: + :snkc:, quickly dash in)xn, :d: + :snkc:, :qcf:x2 + :snkb:/:snkd:. If your timing is good you can continue the feint cancel loop for a couple of reps.

(Corner) Jump in :snka:, :snkc:, land, stand :snka:, charge :d:, then :u: + :snkd:, break it (:snka: + :snkb:), then do :qcf:x2 + :snka:, before they hit the ground from falling do :qcf:x2 + :snkb:. You can also do his :qcf:x2 + :snkc: super then hold the :snkc: before they hit the ground to follow it up with an extra hit of damage.

Now that I’ve been playing around a bit (and gotten beaten by my friends), I don’t seem to grasp the timing on breaking Terry’s Power Dunk at all. At which point am I supposed to hit AB?
Also, if you can, please recommend some Terry combos that are considered the bread 'n butter. At least thread search didn’t get me any posts with those.

Just hit A+B as soon as you can. Like super fast. Don’t forget that Brakes are easier on hit/block, so your timing has to be super quick if you do it on whiff.

(c.B)c.B qcf+P or super

low jump j.C, Brake Power Dunk, DP Power Dunk

low jump j.C or cross up j.B (or is it j.D?) standing A, ff+A ff+A ff+A

closeC, f+A+B, closeC, f+A+B, c.C >> power wave or burn knuckle or super or ff+A

Last one is good block string too, don’t abuse ff+C after c.C because opponent will c.A+B and you get destroyed.

far D, qcf+LP on block is great guard string too

Variations to the combos Noc posted (no offense Noc)-
Corner:-
Jumping D–>Cr. B, Cr. C (Link)–>QCF+D
Jumping D (Early, try to make them get hit at the highest possible point of their sprite)–Cr. C–>Charge Down then Up+D, Break–>QCFx2+A–>QCFx2+B
Cr. B 3 or 4 times–>QCFx2+B (Only use P. Power if their life is a little over 50%)
TOP ONLY: Jumping D (Early, try to make them get hit at the highest possible point of their sprite)–Cr. C–>Charge Down then Up+D, Break–>QCFx2+Hold C then release*
:l::l:+:snkb:–>QCFx2+A–>QCFx2+B

*In TOP this combo does more damage than if you do the 2nd combo I posted while in TOP as well :wink:

Anywhere:-
Jumping D–>Cr. C–>QCF+D
Cr. B–>Cr. B or Cr. C (link into either)–>QCFx2+K
:l::l:+:snkb:–>Kick super

The :l::l:+:snkb: Command attack is rather risky but with proper practice you can trick your opponent into getting hit by it. Furthermore it can be canceled even before Jae’s kick comes out or hits the opponent (Kara-canceling). It’s also cancelable so try out different follow-ups to it other than supers.
Oh and wherever I wrote to use a Jumping D, you can use any other jump in chain or normals instead :).

What should I be doing with Gato? I still fell like I’m a scrub.:sad:

Can you explain what you do with him when your playing? Anything like what you use offensively and defensively.

I use jump in b,a a lot. I use his air turn around to set up crossups anywhere on the screen(not 100% consistent yet). I use cr.a to tick throw/bait attacks. I sometime use his d fake to make people think I’m about to attack.

Do you play on Kaillera? Maybe we can play each other so I can see what you do during certain situations. I can go over things I do with Gato but everyone tends to use him a lot different.

I can’t. I’m prolly gonna install Yellow Dog on my ps3 tonight. But I dunno if I can get through my firewall.

Kevin is good in the right hands. If you dont know any of his options then you will get killed by a better player. If you need it I can go over some Kevin stuff again since the previous info posted is somewhere a couple of pages back.

I got all his stuff down back from just building my meter with his cancel to his max damage feint combo.

I guess it was another thread cause I can’t find my post lol.
