Garou: MOTW Thread

Even though that specidic combo is very hard to do that consistant in a match, I would say even near impossible. It seems to be easier to do a second rep by delaying the 3rd hit of her d + D air kick. Since thats the main kick that tends to juggle them a bit high enough to rejuggle or end with pretty much anything. Try jumping a bit higher with her also that might help do the first 2 d + D quick, pause for a bit before just landing hit D again to end the 3rd hit. From there you would rejump as soon as you land and repat the d + D rep from there. Hope that helps you out a bit.

Hello, thanks for your reply^^

That’s exactly what I figured out with the delayed third kick but like you say, it is nearly impossible :S I think I saw that “in match” in one of the howard arena’s video so I was wondering if there was a trick to facilitate the immediate jumps after the wave kicks… But it seems like it is impossible :stuck_out_tongue: Especially with mame wich slow down the game each time a wave kick is performed  I noticed too that the b wave kick seems to be more fast and let more time to continue with another wave kick… But I didn’t succeeded to connect any ^^

It’s mainly only possible with the d + D version, I have seen it in an old Howard Arena match where they do 1 rep of it on someone. Then again it you get the start correcty its possible to do a 1 rep in a match. Doing it like in that video would be way too hard to do in a match, even if the opponent let you do it on him.

I succeed to place the qcf+a or the 2xqcf+a after the first part now^^

But what I don’t understand is that she don’t say “Wouhou!” each time she perform the wave kicks after the first part of the combo… Have you noticed? Perhaps is it the secret behind all this? :S

Does this game have a top tier list as rigid as 3rd strike?

Nope.

Its pretty much set in stone not ever going to change.

LOL what?

You mean that the 3s top tier is set in stone, right?

Can someone confirm for me that they are playing the Prototype version. I pretty sure they are.

Looks like set 1 to me.

Also looks like set 1 to me. What makes you think it’s prototype? That Jae combo is pretty hard to do…but I don’t think it’s easier in prototype.

What are some of Jenets basic combos ? How do you do her air kick thing so close to the ground??

Nah! No way! 11 hits and not even a counter hit? I swear the prototype version was messed up due to the lack of pushback and silly hit stun.

Also if you notice in the vid the characters wobble a little as they get hit which doesn’t look normal.

That combo is 100% possible in Set 1, it?s just beyond retarded to do. It?s tough to get over 3 reps of the stand Close D loop in practice mode, let alone in an actual match. Most people you see doing that in a match are indeed using macros, but I?m not nave enough to think there aren?t some out there who can legitimately use it.

The version seems legit though. The integrity of the person doing the Jae infinite is really the only thing possibly in question.

There is pushback in Set1 and it’s still possible to do the Jae infinite. To make up for the pushback, after the feint (Jae’s Down A+C feint) you have to dash back into close D range before they get out of hit stun. That’s why people look to some (especially online) who are able to nail that infinite with skepticism; it really is that hard to do.

Mmmm, the guy’s execution looked sketchy at points and then he suddenly pulls out the infinite, maybe that’s the only thing he practices >_>

edit: btw have there been anymore ranking battles lately? Noc hasn’t uploaded any recently =(

Wow I really didn’t think you could pull off something like that in Set 1. Then again like the Arc_man mentioned his exection on the whole looked questionable hence it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that he was using Marcos. I know about the fact that you have to dash in a bit to get more hits.

You were talking about Jae having an infinite, is that what he was doing in the second round? Is Jae the only dude with an infinite?

Another question: I was messing around with the PS2 version in training mode and set counter hit on. Just trying to practice Terry’s dp + D ~ A+B juggles. Normally on Mame when you set counter hit on and when do Terry’s dp + D ~ A+B the CPU will launch quite high. However on the PS2 they stay on the ground and never leave the floor. Whats up with that?
So I can’t even do: dp + D ~ A+B, dp + D ~ A+B, Busta Wof!!! on the PS2 but I can on Mame.

Hokutomaru got one too, http://youtube.com/watch?v=UqJ2slRc5mw
Normally you’ll never see these in real matches as they are so difficult to do

I see thanks for that and JamieDL’s reply gives a good explaination as well.

Sorry about not posting the latest ranbat, the new one has some audio issues for some odd reason this time around. About more than half the matches have no sound and even the ones with sound are wacky. As for the Jae combo done in that match it mighgt be possible that he pulled it off. I would say he is probably using pad since I find it easier pulling off that combo with pad. I myself have been able to do about 6 reps at the most but required some great execution. As for the PS2 counter hit stuff its been explained before, the PS2 port has that issue in training mode. Mainly for break moves that would launch on counter hit don’t happen on the PS2 in trainind mode though. If you play it on arcade/VS it still launches them like it is suppose to launch them off a counter. Only way to solve the problem would be to have the AI jump while you have counter hit on. Hope this helps out.
