f+ac feint has upper/mid body invincibility. There’s a slight chance that when you get out of the feint animation that the opponent will recover from his animation so the 360 could be back dashed out of or poked out. best thing to do is his D throw. It’s more reliable than the C throw, which is a lot easier to break out of. It also lowers the chance of having a sD come out instead of the throw. I didn’t see the vid, just responding to why someone would do that.
That’s two posts in a row from two different people that say to jump in with Jae’s j.D. I gotta ask, why? j.A seems far superior in every way except damage. The angle on j.A is just perfect, and stuffs a good number of anti-airs, and (differing opinions welcome) has the best hit box for cross ups. Mid-screen crossup j.A (land) c.B (link) c.C xx qcf+D or kick super is very doable against all characters; my favorite “ABCD” combo. As a bonus, against taller characters (Grant and Tizoc for sure, not sure about the rest of the cast yet; I havent tested them all.), you can do the early j.A -> j.C chain to start off a combo, with all of the anti-air stuffing ability that an early j.A has, and gives you a VERY meaty j.C for comboing into any damn thing you like on the ground.
What am I missing?
^Use Jumping :snka: then, the reason I use :snkd: is cuz of damage
Oh and I have figured out a VERY good way to leech the matches out youtube, so read at your own risk:-
First go to the javimoya site I posted in the previous page, there should be a tab in it that gives a tutorial, note that you should use FireFox just to be safe. Remember to do just as the tutorial showed u.
To watch the files, install this player.
Peace.
Jump D can stuff a lot of dp’s on wakeup and has a lot of priority air to air as well. Jump A’s probably a bit better. It’s priority is due to the hit boxes being far from the main sprite and it’s speed (rather than j.D which seems to just beat everything once it’s out). Plus short jump A is retarded good. And yeah, like Toodles said, cross ups.
I’m finding the first hit of Grant’s :d::snka:+:snkb: to be hard to cancel. Is it just me?
Anyone know what’s wrong with the wikipedia? I can’t edit it, always gives me an error, and this has been happening for the last few weeks. Same goes for the kof2k2 wikipedia.
Best way to do it is to go back to neutral on the stick/pad, so right after it’s done hitting cancel into whatever. Seems tricky at first but once you get the hang of the timing it’s not too bad.
Oh, ok.
I was trying…
:d::snka:+:snkb:,:db:,:l::snka:
Ill go netural first. Ill try it when I get home. thanks Noc
Sorry to double post
Hey Toodles, why should a Grant player put there TOP in the front?
^IIRC it’s to get a quick GGPO.
OK, I’m thinking of picking Kevin up again, so could someone link or provide some 101s plz?
Also, Nocturnal, where can I get the latest Garou matches you mentioned in the previous pages?
ummm… learn his 100%s

Biggest explanation is there. In short:
- Since it activates at the beginning of the round, you KNOW you will have the full length of it when you are on even footing with the opponent. This forces the opponent to be agro; anytime you force the opponent to react, you have control of the match. If it activated when you were cornered and getting a pounding, you can easily get hit with a combo to knock you out of it by a good Terry, Kevin, Jae… Midscreen beginning of the round, even if you eat a combo, it likely wont knock you out of TOP, letting you run away and heal.
- Mobility. Grant can turtle runaway in a way few characters can catch. Staying in TOP turns the game clock into a weapon, and lets you control the match and gain advantage by doing absolutely nothing.
- Meter. Grant NEEDS one stock of meter, not for comboing, but for a punch super anti-air in case your ass gets cornered.
With TOP in the front, Grants entire gameplan becomes very solid. One solid focus: stay in TOP. It becomes a true plan of action that allows you to begin control of the game from Start. With it in the middle, its just another “hit them and combo some” character, of which there are better choices all around for mixup and combo potential.
The Grants on the recent tournament videos Nocturnal posted all were in the middle, but they had a much more aggro style than I usually have. With that said, I don’t know of any other character that I would want TOP in front for. Everyone else, with the exception of a Tizoc facing Grant, I would want TOP in the middle.
So much for ‘in short’. I should add this to the wiki, whenever the damn wiki works again.
Cool. Thnx
Grant’s punch super isn’t a good anti air imo. It comes out too slow, and can be JDed and you can be punished for it after the JD.
As for the whole ‘where should the TOP bar go’ put it wherever you want. Everyone has different play styles and feel it can be used better if it were placed XXX. Most people I play throw their TOP in the mid of their bar, I always put it at the begining, and very few people I play put it at the end of their bar.
I always put it at the end, so that way if I’m losing by only a bit and time is running low, I can runaway and regain life!
I like putting the TOP at the beginning for Grant and Tizoc, not only for the reasons Toodles said, but if you land a couple of bombs with them before the opponent gets you out of TOP, youll have a HUGE advantage over them.
I used to play Tizoc with his TOP at the end, but when I switched it to the beginning, I noticed a big difference. If you land 3-5 big moves, chances are the opponent wont be able to make a comeback.
Do the filebank links in this thread still work?
Also the howardarena link is dead and I never got to see the matches, is there any way I can?
I think howardarena has been dead for a while. You could always try youtube, I think Nocturnal put a shitload of vids on it a while ago.
The filebank links do work but only in Internet Explorer it seems and I’m still adding more videos on youtube. Pretty soon SoCal Garou match videos for everyone to check out :). I’ll keep you guys posted on that.
^Hope there are gonna be some Kevin & Tizoc matches
