Any pains I used to get that were associated with gaming went away forever when I switched from pad to stick. The pad puts you at risk for tendon damage and blisters, whereas the stick is more ergonomically efficient.
If you’re on a stick and you still get pain in your hands/forearms, practice smoothly and economically executing the movements.
i don’t think people should get pain at all if they play on sanwa stick and sanwa buttons… maybe slight fatigue in the left wrist if you continuously play for maaaany hours
Now that I’ve been animating full time for a year, I notice my thumb is really getting crushed by squeezing the pencil. My thumbnail is actually bent now.
So at the end of the day, charging on a pad doesn’t feel good.
My new stick is coming in either today or tomorrow though. Yay!
I have Bal top and a stiff ass stick when I play Marvel. (Bat tops would feel weird for me, I can’t stop Imagining that Im playing with nuts instead of a joystick)
I sometimes get pain in my left forearm, but that’s due to me using my whole arm instead of my wrist to do motions. I started on a Happ stick, so I got used to having to force everything.
