Sorry about the hiatus from monthlies, due to a number of reasons we were unable to host a March monthly (namely venue booking and busyness) but we are coming back, hopefully stronger than ever, with our April monthly…which is actually in May…May 7th to be exact. There are major changes to the schedule of play and how to enter tournaments so please read those, they are down in the Schedule of Play section. A 10-minute report time has been added to the general rules for the tournament as well. Basically, an entrant has up-to 10 minutes to report for his matchup before being disqualified for the match. This section will also be updated to include a rough timeline of the event as soon as we have it. So here are all the details for the event.
These may actually change this time because of some leads we are following, so you may actually have to check back here often!

Schedule of Play
Tournaments will be separated into two blocks starting this month and you will only be allowed to enter AT MOST one event per block, this excludes singles/doubles events for Smash games (i.e. one could enter Melee singles and doubles in addition to a block B tournament even though Melee tournaments are in a single block). We are changing the format this month to avoid delays caused by entrants involved in all tournaments. These blocks are subject to change if we find that there is too much crossover in the individual blocks but those announcements will be made apparent when they happen. Here are your blocks for the April/May tournament:
-Block A tournaments: MvC3 and SSB:M
-Block B tournaments: SSF4, BB:CS, SSB:B
The tournament schedule will be posted here when it is completed (currently being edited and revised)
General Rules
-No drugs at the venue!
-No turbo buttons
-Any breaks in gameplay, deliberate or not, will award a decision to the player NOT responsible for the break, to either restart the round or accept the round win
-A player has AT MOST 10 minutes to report for the start of a match, after that time period they will forfeit the match
-Disturbances must be reported the moment they occur. If both players resume play consensually, there will be no reverse judgment on the results. Judges reserve the right to make a final call on any issues
-Don’t be a dick
Game Specific Rules
Please refer to the individual posts in the specific game’s forum:
For Brawl/Melee: Brawl Post
For SSF4: SSF4 Post
For BlazBlue: BB:CS Post

-please note that this post contains the most up-to-date info we have on the event. The posts mentioned above are only to provide supplementary information about a specific game’s rules for the tournament
-all double-elimination tournaments are 32-participant max brackets. Should more than 32 entrants be participating in any tournament, the top 32 players, based on pool performance, will be advanced to the next bracket
Equipment Volunteering
We are looking for people who would be willing to donate their setup for use in the monthly tournament. Exact numbers will be forthcoming as we gather our own inventory of equipment. We will be needing CRTs, Wii’s plus copies of Melee/Brawl as well as LCD screens, Xbox 360s plus copies of SSF4, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift and MvC3.
For those who post and are willing to donate please note the following:
- We will be asking you to sign a waiver for your equipment. We will do everything in our power to return your equipment in the state it was given but will accept no responsibility for losses/damages beyond our control or that any reasonable person would expect
- We will pick up your equipment on the Friday before the event (the 6th) and store it for safe-keeping, we will log your serial numbers and what was given to ensure systems/setups remain with their correct owners
- We will return your equipment on the Sunday after the event (the 8th)
Bringing Your Own Equipment
At this time we would like to request that you contact a GO organizer (either Happablab or buenob) prior to bringing your own equipment. This is to ensure that we can keep track of all the setups at the venue and ensure that there is sufficient space and power for the casual setups. We cannot guarantee that there will be space for a setup, that your equipment will be looked after, or that we can provide a method of transport for your equipment to and from the venue. We also cannot guarantee that we will have space to accommodate all requested setups, as such, they will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
