Neither her hypocrisy nor her holier than thou position is important in the grand scheme of things. She’s not a very respectable person, and she’s a chronic liar, but the only thing really worth focusing on is how easily journalistic ethics can be compromised. One of the fundamental tenets of journalism is to work independently, and this is what happens when you do not.

Alright, to make this somewhat productive - what gaming news sites are reporting on this? Or at least aren’t censoring those who discuss it? It seems like every site I’ve thought to check has failed to report on it and flat-out denies their users the right to talk about it.

Gaming journalism is pure shit. I can’t even read game news sites anymore because they’re garbage. I miss the days of GameFan with their awesome Import coverage of shit we never saw the light of on the Western side of the world. When shit was about gaming news, and not blog post of the day.
IGN, GameSpot, Kotaku, all ruined gaming news for me. Kotaku probably the biggest contributor to ruining it.
Anyway, I don’t even think game coverage matters anymore. E3 doesn’t matter anymore, game shows don’t matter anymore because stuff gets announced all year round now instead of all at once. Lately, it’s like, why watch the main shows? They’re just showing off stuff that was announced a week, month, year before. On top of that, you have Nintendo doing Nintendo direct. I wouldn’t be surprised to see stuff like that more often from companies on their own websites and by Sony and MS.

Yeah, this doesn’t directly affect me since I’ve never cared for reviews of anything at all anyway, much less game reviews, and I’ve always heard that at least Kotaku and Destructoid were pieces of shit even before their obvious lack of any type of integrity. So this happening and at least some of the people behind it being such douchebags isn’t at all surprising.
Of course, it similarly won’t be at all surprising if nothing changes for this outside of this woman coming out on top through the power of (white) female victim-hood. Yay.
That said, I’ve never understood why exchanging sexual favors actually works for the most part. I understand why it’s done (since people are weak like that), but it seems like there’s nothing guaranteeing that you won’t still get fucked over after the deed is done. There’s really nothing but maybe blackmail to get the other party or parties to live up to their non-sexual end of bargain and given that blackmail would be often damaging to both parties…

I knew about this situation since yesterday (a italian forum opened a thread about it, but it wasn’t possible to talk about what’s wrong, who’s at fault, etc, because of the italian sexual hive mind. I realized just now there was a thread about it on SRK and… wow… In some aspects, it’s even worse than the italian one, though i’m not sure if some of the points made by some of the users are due to cultural differences.
Anyway, i’ll try to say how i see the situation, hoping for a discussion worth having:
-Is it wrong that she cheated on her boyfriend? Yes. I despise cheating.
-Is it wrong that her boyfriend publicly said who she cheated on him with? In my opinion… Yes. He had all the right in the world to vent. Though, creating a specific blog about it online, posting chat logs, and publicly saying who the 5 guys are… It’s wrong, in my opinion. What she did with her relationship, is PERSONAL [note follows]
-Do we have proof that she slept her way to have a boost in her Greenlight Campaign and good reviews? Not that i know of, to be honest.
-The “White Knighting.” I’m Kinda split on this one. I think that both the White Knight and the harassers are wrong in acting like they are. We only have one side of the story. She wasn’t given the opportunity to tell her side. It’s a “He said, She said” situation, only without the “She Said” part, IMHO.
-Does she have mental problems? Irrelevant.
-Does her being a “social justice warrior” and or a femminist deny her “right” to have sex when she wants? Honestly, i think not. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, i don’t know.
-Is gaming journalism shit? Yes, but it has been for a long time.

Zoe is a shitty person for cheating on her BF, lying to the public and suppressing information. The 5 dudes who fucked her are scum that are the perfect examples of their communities/world views. Ultimately this scandal won’t matter in a few weeks and all these idiots will be back to their usual BS.
