so from what i see in this shitstorm, the girl did nothing illegal, nor did she do anything wrong. the male reviewers did wrong by not disclosing their relationship, and the male boss did wrong by sleeping with a direct report. as is usually the case, the crusaders are angry, but its misdirected because the dudes are the ones who fucked up, including the ex. its funny because all these men who rant against 5s acting like 10s are directly at fault for putting the pussy on a pedestal. then somehow its the women’s fault? retarded logic at its finest.

I think most people are missing the point of this. It’s not just about a girl sleeping around in exchange for positive press. The problem is the lack of integrity in gaming journalism that makes it possible. Yes, those of us who frequent message boards already know how shitty those sites are, but the majority of casual gamers rely on them, and it’s a good opportunity to bring these issues out into the open. Unfortunately, the only sites that are going to pick up the story are the ones responsible, so it will be repackaged to fit the “misogynistic gamers attack strong, independent, female developer” narrative to deflect from their corruption, and nothing good will come of it.

i already addressed this in my last post, but the problem is that the woman did nothing wrong. if at work, someone exchanges sex for favors, the person accepting the sex is the one who gets in trouble. they are abusing a position of power. the corruption lies entirely on the males in this case: the reviewers for not disclosing the relationship in the reviews, and the boss for abusing his position. only in cases where say, someone is exchanging sex for favors from a judge, is that actually illegal and both parties are at fault. that is because trying to circumvent the justice system is serious and deserves to be punished accordingly. so in this scenario, the crusaders should be lashing out at the dudes, because the dudes fucked up. so why is everyone lashing out at the woman in this case? its dumb and its a waste of time. if they really cared, they should go after the dudes.

I’ll lay this all out for you one last time so you can follow the actual argument. A woman was caught in a compromising relationship with members of the gaming press. Evidence has surfaced that these relationships have benefitted her career thus calling into question the credibility and ethnics of certain media outlets. The fact that these people are routinely associated with feminist/SJW communities and that there is a substantial effort to repress public discourse on this topic by that very community, speaks volumes to the dishonesty and deception of that community. Now that you know the actual argument and why people are angry please start making sense.
