The Marvel crew is notoriously last minute.
This is true. Being a marveler, I will be there to sign up tmro, or Saturday, depending on 2 things. 1. Whether or not we just go to Keith’s after the drive up. 2. Whether or not people post in here that they are going to be at a casual session at GW tmro.
Played twice this week…gotta say, helllllllla salty at the cabinet. Good luck hitting an ultra in a clutch situation for those that play SF4. I’m not any expert on marvel sticks, but I played a few matches and didn’t feel as if I could complain about them to much, but I’m not a very good barometer.
Those buttons on that VF cab are just WACK man…the sticks take getting used to, but it wasn’t to much to my disliking…but those buttons man, are just terrible
Heard last night at Heavy D’s: “Yeah, they couldn’t get the cab working for like 40 minutes so we just left.”
THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST TOURNEY EVER!
Fo’ serious?? Man… I don’t think I’ll be going then. I need perfect sticks for Fuerte madness. Maybe I’ll play Guile.
I broke the cab with too much Sagat gross-ness… I’m serious.
I believe you sir.
I thought I might of heard something about them actually using 360s for the tourny? Any word on that? Nobody wants to play on messed up arcade hardware…though we obviously will if we gotta.
That was my prediction.
I played on it on Monday, and the cabinet felt just fine, but I can’t speak for everyone’s preferences.
There is a free play session all day tommorow for both Marvel and SF4 for tournament registers, so if you worried about the sticks, tommorow is the time to go in and see for yourself and let them know about problems so they can address them. The SF4 tournament is Sunday, so there is still a lot of time to address any button or stick problems, and get things right.
This is an Arcade Tournament, not a console tournament!
I wish everybody the best of luck.
When I go into GameWorks tomorrow I will ask about changing the buttons for SF4.
Have a good night.
Brian
When does the free-practice start tomorrow (friday)? And would it matter if one was a little late or do we just get in line when we get there?
I Believe it runs 5-11 for the tournament contestants…I figure once you get there just let them know what you’re there for and it should be no prob.
Shit, freeplay tommorow for SFIV registered people, is that all day??? I might get up early and stop by and get some practice in then! Good looking, Brent!
I am getting crazy excited about this!
edit: Nevermind, gonna be in Northgate at 5-11 eating hella ribs, oh well.
Ah ok, sweet. thanks, Ghrrk, and i’ll see you there!
Did any of you guys get the email confirmation they said they were gonna send?
I still need to sign up…but I can’t get to Seattle till sunday…someone should sign me up!
No email confirmation for me, nope.
Sorry, There is no e-mail confirmation because we did not get the online registration to work.
I can say if you turned in your form then we have you registered.
So Far we have 12 people signed up for Marvel Vs Capcom, and 46 players for SF4.
Just to repeat, yes you can sign up on the day of the tournament. You should get to GameWorks by 10am - 11am to sign-up on the day of the tournament. We are also taking registrations today until 12-midnight.
Also if you have already signed up, you can come in and play Marvel Vs Capcom and Street Fighter anytime from 5pm - 11pm for free. We are doing this so players have a chance to play on the arcade cabinets and get a feel for them. There will be a desk in front of the games for players to confirm they are registered and they will give you a wrist band that allows you to play the games for free.
Have a good day
Brian
Good luck everyone. See you Sunday…
