Gamestop Round 3 Winners!

All people who lost because of playing on a 360 pad who are complaining that they wanted to use a stick 3rd round, ummm, most of the winners of their region are pretty well renowned from previous SF games, so if they used a stick you would’ve probably had an even lesser chance of winning, ummm, yea…

and then when i got to nyc and no sticks its like wtf

also all this shit about every player needs to have the same advantage
but we werent allowed to provide the store with 2 sticks for everyone to use is bullshit

I was told by a few people there that he should have won, but the pads screwed him in his match against whoever was playing Vega.

my store in winston-salem had two sticks before it started, but sold them before the whole thing began. There was even a big wooden stand type thing in front of the game kiosk that I’m pretty sure was meant for the sticks to rest on.

killerkai and I brought sticks to the LAplace Louisiana location and the guy would not let us use them. Majority of the tourney players were for it, but the guy said that at the tourney meeting, the brass (of gamestop? lol) banned sticks because they could be modified to give some players an unfair advantage.

WTF? what mod could you put on your stick to do this? assign combos to one button? can you do that?

so whatever. grats to the winners. I lost to killerkai who lost to jakob. ggs though. Jakob is pretty good on stick, and even better on pad. wish i had a 360 to practice on. FML.

I have no clue what mod you’d put on a stick to give you an advantage besides turbo - which comes on the damn MadCatz sticks anyway.

I think it’s just the shotcallers at GameStop want to try to make this look as clean as possible and there’s no way you could modify their 360 controllers. I wasn’t even playing in the damn thing and it made no sense to me.

I hope they let them use sticks in the last round or the whole thing is a joke. Mike was talking about how random it made the game feel to play on the stupid pad.

don’t think so, I was the gief who beat the guile first round, then had a gief mirror match with the guy wearing his 3 headbands haha. That guy couldn’t seem to figure out how reversal SPD’s work and was getting awfully mad when he couldn’t grab me haha

Personally, I’d love to see Jason Wilson go all the way. However, at this level of play most predictions are pure guesses more than anything else. It’s like trying to pick division champs in the NFL - any given Sunday any man can win.
