Yoooo I had that shit too lol
Haha, no way.
Xbox - Jet Set Radio Future
360 - Guardian Heroes
I check out some videos on youtube. The game so much of the Monster Hunter setup it blew my mind. Not a fan of the lock-on but it should tide me over if MH ever gets a Vita release.
Ah man, I totally forgot - this was the reason I bought an Xbox too!
In fact, it was almost the only game I played on the Xbox at all. I really need to hook it back up and play some other games.
I remember someone got me a pacman game for the snes, which I didn’t even own at the time. Eventually I did end up getting one to play it. Don’t remember much after that, but at least it came with killer instinct.
Shortly after, I got a ps1 with the intent of getting ff7. I got Castlevania Sotn instead. Best decision ever.
me and my pals played Power Stone 2 on DC until the disk melted, and Suikoden made the PS1 for me.
as of recent, i kinda want a 3DS to play Theatrhythm, any opinions?
After thinking about it, I came up with:
PSX - Metal Gear Solid (and kinda Castlevania: SOTN). I loved the NES Metal Gears even though I was terrible at them. I beat all 3 Castlevanias though, and was out of the loop on videgames for about 4 years or so, and didn’t know much about the psx. I picked up a gamepro or something and saw a map walkthrough for one of the levels and immediately went to go buy a PSX and MG:S. Lo and behold, there’s Castlevania too! I hadn’t heard of SotN at all either, and called out from work for three days to play both games to completion. Best mini vacation ever.
Dreamcast - MvC1. Easy day 1 purchase for that shit. Agetec green goblins for life. I still have one.
Xbox 360 - Rock Band. So much fun!
I remember buying a Saturn only for X-Men vs Street Fighter. I bought other games for it, but I almost passed on the system completely before near-perfect XvS (a big deal at the time) was announced.
Most recent example was Vita, just for Wipeout 2048, because WHD was that godly (2048 wasn’t though).
Systems sold to me by one game:
Dreamcast: MVC was supposed to be a launch title. So I bought it. Then MVC was delayed. SonicAdv and Powerstone were good time killers until MVC.
PS3: Heavenly Sword, hadnt seen a game look like amazing at its launch. Had to have PS3 to play it.
360: Test Drive Unlimited. Played a demo, had to have it. Heard it was coming to PS2, so I waited for that version. It was soooo watered down, I bought a 360, TDU, and 3 other games the NEXT day.
Neo Geo Pocket Color: SNK VS Capcom MoTM. Better than their AES/MVS effort by far…in graphics, sound, and gameplay.
DS Lite: Castlevania
Getting other systems:
NES I was a kid, me/brother got it for XMAS of 90
Genesis - got for XMAS 92
SNES - got for XMAS 94 (I really wanted this because I was under the impression that SF2T would have arcade quality music, over Genesis, but was the samw music as WW)
PSX - Our 16 bits got stolen, so we traded what was left on PSX at launch.
Saturn - got on trade for a bike
Neo Geo AES - given to me free with 4 old ass games. Gave it to someone else.
PS2 - I bought one at launch with Tekken Tag, Played once, resold for $600.
PSP - got at lauch for a gas powered RC car
nes super mario bros.
genesis sonic 2
super nes streetfighter 2
saturn fighter’s megamix
psx [S]ffVII, iirc[/S] actually, now that i think about it it was tekken 2
nintendo 64 mario 64
dreamcast marvel vs capcom
ps2 tekken tag
gamecube mario sunshine and melee
ps3 the promise/thought that final fantasy games were going to be a ps3 exclusive
game gear the first sonic game for it. i forgot the name.
pretty sure i’m missing a few systems i’ve owned but i can’t think of anymore atm.
Brawl made me buy a Wii.
SF4 got me on the 360/PS3.
Tekken Tag got me hyped for PS2.
Melee and SA2:B were the reasons I wanted a GC.
Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 got me hyped for N64.
Wanted a DC for all the fighting game and fg ports, mainly SFA3 and MVC1. MVC2 and CVS1 increased the need.
Super Mario Advance, Sonic Advance, and SSF2TR got me interested in a GBA.
I wanted a Virtual Boy cause the controller looked cool.
Wanted a gameboy to play Super Mario Land 2. Funny how this game was more fun than the console mario platformers.
I thought the game gear was a portable Sega, so I was hyped to play Sonic games anywhere I went. Then, the portable Sega (Nomad) came out.
Super Mario Bros. got me into video games, and Arcade games like TMNT and Street Fighter 2 kept my interest in them.
I recommend P4 vanilla because it has that Bitter-Sweet flavor, P4G has alot of unnecesary stuff and kinda ruins the atmosphere, but that’s me.
Did you like the plot changes? doing P4A canon was a terrible idea in my opinion, but is a very good game to start in FG, you should get GGXXACR when it comes out.
I got the OG Xbox because of OG Halo. Played it once at a friends house and my mind was blown, had to have it.
I got a PS3 for Little Big Planet.
inFamous Series - Made be buy PS3
Halo - Made me buy an Xbox / Halo 3 (and Gears of War) - Made me buy an Xbox 360
Soul Calibur II - Made me buy a Gamecube (seeing Link on the cover of a fighting game, I was young :P)
Pokemon Red - Made me buy a Gameboy Colo
Mario Kat DS - Made me buy a DS
Smash Brothers Brawl - Made me buy a Wii
I get all the Nintendo systems in anticipation for a new Zelda game;
N64: Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.
GBA: Minish Cap and the Pokemon games
Gamecube: Twilight Princess and Melee
DS: Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and the Pokemon games
Wii: Brawl, and the next Zelda that was hinted at but not announced at the time (which was eventually Skyward Sword)
3DS: Kingdom Hearts 3D, SSFIV 3D edition (didn’t have a console to play it at the time), Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Smash Brothers (still anticipating it), Kid Icarus Uprising…so many games that I bought the system for.
Mass Effect 2 and Gears 2 got me to finally buy a 360.
I’m Sorry
Mvc1 dc
sega genesis for the first x-men game. saw the commercial once and was like, yeah that shit is mine.
to be honest, first I got the system and then learned about the games, not vice versa.
Only exception was the Dreamcast. We had sold the NES and skipped the 90s consoles. So I was thinking which console to buy to try to fill the gap a little (was a computer gamer since late 80s with AtariST, Amiga and IBM PC).
In 2003 the PS2 hadnt yet any interesting games and it was pricey. The PS1 was too old and I wasnt a Sony fan.
So I was between Gamecube and Dreamcast. At that time Dreamcast was cheap and since I already had an NES no use to revisit the Nintendo franchises again. Besides nothing beats the first experience with the NES. So when I looked the available Dreamcast games (Virtua Tennis, Virtua Striker, Jet Set Radio, SF3:3S, Jojo, VF3, Sega Rally etc) and since I also visited the arcades to play those games, I opted for the Dreamcast. I didnt regret it, those were some good moments.
