There’s like a million games I could list probably because a majority of them were not released in the US. Parents got it from Taiwan which had stuff from Taiwan and Japan. Think one of my favorites was something about this penguin dude who you couldn’t control his speed and had to run around different countries.
Think there was this one game that was released in the US that was hard for me back in the days, but i can’t find the ROM since I don’t even know the name of the game. Some caveman that needed to grab food every so often. Could throw axes and ride skateboards. Ring a bell to anyone I hope?
@AlphaDragoon02, Alzarath and PozerWolf: If I could +rep you three, I would. No one else I talk to seems to remember Illusion of Gaia at all. x.x And, yeah, it was the second of the Soul Blazer trilogy, and all three should definitely see a remake. I’ve yet to finish Terranigma, however.
Also, Cool Spot for the SNES. Decent if you want an okay platformer.
I remember that Illusion of Gaia actually had the trademark RPG super-duper tough secret boss, who was actually Metal Mantis, the first boss of Soul Blazer, who was under the disguise of…someone who always kept appearing in the villages (the drinking guy?). You had to give him…something…and after collecting them all, you would get to fight him. I was surprised he would be so tough, though…maybe because he had a higher defense ratio, and those conveyor belts were a BITCH to run. :wasted:
I played all these games (I played Bad Dudes for the first time in the arcades, though).
LOL! Bart’s Nightmare was a SNES game… The NES had 3 Simpsons games (Bart vs. the Space Mutants, Bart vs. The World, Bart and the Radioactive Man).
Never played the 3rd game…but the other two definetly sucked fat donkey balls.
If there ever was a ripoff of Mega Man, I would have to say Whomp 'Em for the NES was a pretty safe bet.
It was the merchant that you had to give the Red Jewels to. I’ve never actually FOUGHT him, because gathering all the Red Jewels is a bitch and a half to do. x.x
I’ve played that one, too. Krion Conquest has that beat. The main character…whoever or whatever the hell she is, can use charge shots, makes similar sound effects when jumping about, can switch weapons in the same manner, and has extra energy reserves that can be gathered.
She even dies like Mega Man does, though a fruity little tune accompanies a death instead of the usual “blown to bits” sound effect.
Capcom could take these guys to court, play two TV’s and two NES systems, one with Mega Man and the other with Krion Conquest with two people playing, and simply have a rep say “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury…there it is.”, and bam, court is adjourned.
Few games that I really liked that I doubt many people here have played are the Introverion games. Games like uplink, darwinia, and defcon. These game are now on steam (soon 360)so you guys no longer have an excuse to not play them.
Played those two. Reminds me of my curiousity of what would come out of using any random disc I could find. And, Hot shots Golf was more or less the only golf game I’ve ever played.
Hell yes. Biggest oxymoron I’ve ever seen, and it didn’t help matters that your character wasn’t very ninja-like to begin with. Ninjas are veiled in secrecy as a given. This motherfucker had a telephone.
Played this one. What a pain in the ass game. Mazes were like fuckin’ IMPOSSIBLE, and random as shit. You needed to have the exact combination of character + items to even get half the shit done. Not to mention how you had to go back AAAAAALL the way home and back just to switch characters and crap like that.
No wonder why I never finished that damn game (until I cheated). :annoy:
The Ninja Warriors for SNES, it’s a beat-'em-up that is surprisingly fun, considering it lacks movement in the Z-Axis, the graphics are pretty nice, and the designs are badass.
