Gamers today... what are they capable of?

THIS

Shit like this is what I wanted to hear. thanks, I’m gonna take a look at that guy now

Pros.

Thats Kuroda’s Q.
His Akuma plays completely differently.

Yeah that’s a good point, you have to pick the right videos. His newer Q videos are the perfect example of it, but the older stuff is good too. If you look up Kuroda fever on youtube there is a great OCV in a coop cup by Kuroda.

Do you have more info on this? Maybe a link explaining it in greater detail.

I think I’ve experienced that state of mind in stressful moments before but never in a gaming related setting.

Murder

Maybe cuz you’re suppose to rush down with Akuma? From what I see of Kuroda…since I own several of his dvds is that he is extremely patient, and exploits low-tier characters weaknesses by just baiting his opponents. His defense is everything, and is a key part of his offense (parrying).

He plays a purely ground game for like every single character, with the exception of say Ibuki at least from what I’ve seen. Even then a large part of his game with Ibuki is grounded. His yun is pretty unorthodox as well because he doesn’t dive kick spam all over the place as much.

I’ve always admired Kuroda because of his playstyle since I don’t like blind rushdown. Kuroda is also more calculating when he rushes down, anyways.

I was going to come in here making a serious post about how most gamers today are XBL scrubs who like to whine and shit, then I saw this and just can’t post about this topic anymore. Good one.

I think very few top players blindly rushdown. Jiro comes to mind. With that said, I wouldn’t say Kuroda is necessarily more calculating. When he plays Gouki, he just seems to have such a ridiculously perfect grasp of the game, and such wonderful instincts, that he rarely makes a mistake. His demon flips always go unpunished. He very rarely gets his throws teched. Every punish opportunity he will use the most damaging combo no matter how situational and hard to perform it is, with instant recognition that it is the most appropriate combo.

“At this point, I left the main hall and went to eat. I had to care about staying on schedule physically and I would rather eat on time than fight the 1,000 spectators in food lines once CvS2 ended (my match with Nuki was coming up later). Besides, it’s CvS2, a generally boring game of short, short, into super.”

IMO top players of fighting games dominate because they’re able to process the mental nuances of what their opponents are doing faster and therefore take the appropriate actions faster then us.

Uh, I didn’t mean top players necessarily since I don’t get exposed to their gameplay much. So, are you saying he knows the game well-enough to the point that he doesn’t have to think twice about doing something? Cuz I guess you’re right, and it shows.
