#GamerGate: Keepin' Journos Honest

@angelpalm Not long until I complain about the horrors and the threadism of Straight White Socks.

Destiny is a hit, who cares if it’s profitable? (Correction)

“In making that point, we failed to check to make sure if our central thesis had already been answered, and for that we apologize.” This sentence is LOL. That’s… not what happened at all.

Kuchera writes an article on an idea he just had without acting like a real journalist, fancy that. More interesting to me is this bit:

So basically, reading the whole article, “we the media have and deserve the right to determine what is a hit, not the consumers”.

Found some groundbreaking evidence of massive collusion with in the gaming journalism industry:

That doesnt surprise me since molyneux has a history of not delivering on promises. Still sad to see him run his mouth and make his team look bad for being unable to fulfill them.

Shit at least Peter Molyneux eventually came out and said straight up he was sorry. With a crew of 24 people its a bit hard for him to make an excuse not to talk to the kid earlier. That said Molyneux who was once ironically a god in the video game industry has been reduced to making android games and creating hype of the back of his own name, thats the real sad story.

I know that’s tongue-in-cheek, but there’s a huge difference between reporting the same story, which is pretty big and needs to be discussed, and trying to divert attention away from an issue by creating a narrative that attacks your fanbase because one of your ranks got caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar with conflict of interest.

Please stop, please I am begging you. Just flag and move on.

This isn’t tongue in cheek however, this is serious collusion.

They tried that a little while back with Dragon’s Crown. It didn’t work.

And with everything related to Ninja Theory

Except, it’s not. And here, I’ll tell you why:

They’re reporting on an event. They’re reporting on news. They’re reporting on a specific person. It’s just like with the Boston Marathon Bombing happened. News outlet didn’t collude on articles; they reported on what has clearly happened.

The Gamers Are Dead articles weren’t reporting on events, specific people, or news. They were opinions that were shared by 26(!!!) journalists in the same industry.

Elaborate.

Collusion.

elaborate

You claim to have “found some groundbreaking evidence of massive collusion with in the gaming journalism industry.” Now explain why it’s what you say it is. Your claim isn’t self evident.

***GODDAMMIT, STOP THIS SHIT.

They are all saying the same thing, collusion.

Peter Molyneux always over promises and always apologizes, lol. Why people still report on what he says when everyone and their dead grammaws know he’s full of shit and can’t fulfill his promises is beyond me. I didn’t know he was running a Kickstarter. That is one Kickstarter I would have avoided like the plague knowing his track record of promises and what actually gets delivered. While I dislike the guy a great deal, at least he owns up to a degree. Guy never learns his lesson though, so still no respect. Bloggers could learn a lot of him, as it’s obvious apologies go a long way in gamer forgiveness considering the example Molyneux sets.

snickers yeah, I remember that, too! I was there to watch idiots at Ukatok start pulling the sexism shit out for a fucking 2D side scrolling beat em up. “No no, the dwarf isn’t sexualized or exaggerated at all, no that’s a male power fantasy!” For who? Who wants to actually imagine themselves as a fucking dwarf? Are we all of a sudden secretly closet midgets? What in the fuck!

lol, yeah, I remember the articles about Enslaved. Always did well with the critics but the game never sold well. Picked up the game for $10 new on PS3, played 15 minutes, saw the frame rate, never played again. Even Heavenly Sword frame rates weren’t that bad, at least that game was playable and had characters that were well done.

Then DmC hit, and wow, the way they spun that narrative was awful. I don’t even know why I was visiting those sites at that point, I guess I couldn’t take my eyes away from the head on collision that was happening. It was too obvious that the writers thought very little about the readers at that point.
