GameClucks SSF4/MvC3 Monthly Thread - JULY 9TH 2011 CLOSED PER REQUEST

couldnt of been said any better, yesterday i almost forgot that i was on a forum for SF, it turned into a straight reality show on here. people taking shots for no reason, dissing were people come from, false accusations left and right, not 2 mention all the corny ass jokes. i mean grant it, joking around is fun, but not like that, it was going 2 far.

all and all the purpose of this whole section of SRK is 2 announce tournaments, get 2gethers, and all other events that involve SF or other fighting games, and also 2 be apart of a community and brotherhood, weather ur a scrub or a pro, if u love to play SF and want 2 be apart of this this u should have every right 2 and feel comfortable doing so…

instead we have a bunch of clicks that talk down wat the next person is trying 2 do, we have a bunch of diva’s that think because they hit a certain skill level that we should worship the ground they walk on, and 2 be honest, its reminding me of the hip hop scene out here, only difference is we can actually make it because if u hit that S tier Skill level ur destain for greatness…

So can we please get back 2 SF and keep all the unnecessary drama outside of SRK @ least

I leave at 5am tomorrow for a week.
When I get back, how about at the next event, I will go over the system and (hopefully) be able to explain it all.
If you have an example of the 3pts vs 4pts thing for me at the event I will address it.
Its prob something related to Byes though…

Ok cool. Seems like the system described on the website and that you described to me at the tournament was great, because it eliminated free points being given to people with byes by giving points based on your W-L throughout the tournament, as well as your ability to survive in winners. However, it looks like the points currently on the scoreboard did not use that system, which kind of bones people in the low-mid rankings who have wildly different performances but the same amount of points or vise-versa.

Not that that wouldn’t be a legit way to go anyway. Most ranbats just give points based on your placing, no matter how you got there. But then most ranbats don’t offer points to anyone below top 8, either.

I’ll bug you about it next time I’m down. Not a huge concern or anything… just bored at work and looking for something to be a nerd about.

You popin up again? First off. Clicks is gettin an old term. So you guys live 30-40 miles away of course I’m not gonna kick it or be consistant to events down there. Neither would anyone given the time/money that would cost. I’m also not gonna stand for weaker players randomly hyping themselves up. SRK is for announcing gatherings and community but it’s a public forum which is why it’s for shit talking as well. I don’t shit talk as a group I just claim that you guys are way off point by talkin north vs south. Cause Seatle vs South, Bellevue vs South, Redmond vs South, Sammanish vs South, Everett vs South, Lynnwood vs South, Portland vs South, BC vs South it has has the same result: a clearly one sided fight, maybe not “free” but def one sided. Now I would happy to be proven wrong by you guys hittin the training mode and getting better but at this point we (everybody who’s not regulars at playsmart) know what you guys are capable of. Granted you guys are gettin beasted on by top tier trolls and their assists but if anything I’m saying isn’t the truth prove it to me. I think you’ll have 2 good players to test that out on next tuesday. How about you disapoint me? Don’t talk until you have results to talk with. [Stern voice] END of discussion [/Stern voice]

Yup END of discussion, next person to continue this stupid ass argument on either thread will enjoy a week’s vacation away from SRK. Use that time to step your SF game up.

Oh cool we can talk about the next tourney again?

Ok

I like the 2v2 idea only if there will not be enough people for 3v3. If we have at least 8 teams for 3v3, I say we run that. Otherwise, go for the 2v2.

I like the 3v3 format and since there is ALREAD A LEADERBOARDS for 3v3 I say we stand by that. If it commes to usnot having enough teams 2v2 is fine but as long as there is a consistant 6 teams I say we keep it.

im 100% wit u

Yo, lets take the north vs south discussion to facebook or PM’s yea?

Carlos - Yea I forgot about the ranking already being created. I suppose its best to promote that more so we can continue it.

It’s Cliques, not clicks, CLIQUES!!!

I don’t think I’ve seen one person spell it right, come on guys.

Clucks man this venue is called gameCLUCKS

bout to get DP’d IRL out in these streets

Fixed.

Thank you.

I don’t understand - are the team tournaments also ranked based on the point system?

Here is an example:
I went 2-2 at the tournament and received 4 points.
CPR, Cole, and DeLucifer all went 1-2 and received 5 points.

All three of them had a first round bye, so that could explain it I suppose.

HOWEVER, the seeding was clearly not random. This being the first event in this league, shouldn’t the seeding have been random? The top seeds were given an advantage(a bye) because of their previous tournament performance, or whatever the person who made the bracket thinks of them. This is unfair to me, but it is even more unfair to someone who has absolutely no reputation in the scene. Those people were automatically placed at the bottom of the seeding because their names were not recognizable, not because they were the worst SF players. Players shouldn’t be given an advantage based on they’re reputation.

Do you know who did the brackets?
