Gamecenter (San Mateo) SF4AE and Marvel 3 Bi-Weeklies (AE/MvC3 Aug 27th)

I decided to break out a thread for the tournaments that are happening at Gamecenter. We run bi-weekly SF4AE and Marvel 3 tournaments on Saturdays. The other 2 Saturdays in the month are when we run Gundam vs. Gundam NEXT tournaments (which you should also come to!). The basic outline and rules are in our main thread, but I’ll repeat them here.

Location: Gamecenter ( www.gamecenterarcade.com )
Time: 6pm
Venue fee is a $7 wristband (good for all day play on the setups, both before and after the tournament) and $5 per game to the prize pot. The pot will be split 70/20/10 for the top 3 placers.

The tournament format will vary depending on the number of entrants we have.
<12 entrants: Round robin tournament. Best 2 out of 3 games. Ties in placement will be settled by points (i.e. if two people have a 7-0 record, the one with fewer lost games will win). If we have a tie in points as well, we will have a tie breaker match, best 2 out of 3 games.
>12 entrants: Double elimination bracket. Best 2 out of 3 games with losers finals, winners finals, and grand finals being best 3 out of 5 games.

The first game in a match will be double blind character picks, enforced by telling a tournament official ahead of time who your pick is. If you begin your match (i.e. pick your character) WITHOUT telling an official who your pick(s) are(is), you WAIVE your right to a double blind character pick. Loser of the last game gets to change characters, winner may not change. If players choose to use their own controller, button check is MANDATORY unless both players agree orally to forgo it.

If any other issues or questions arise, please ask them and I will update this post if need be. I hope to see you all on Saturday!

We’ll see if I can get my night shift off so I can come by.

I’ll probably be at Game Center later today to practice up though, lots of new Yang set ups to work on.

This sounds awesome. Hoping to join the MvC3 Tourney. Few questions though

My lil brother wants to join, is there an age limit?

Around what time does the MvC3 Tourney usually end?
