Hey guys, I work at a gamestore in the Beaverton/Portland Area and I wanted to host a game Tourney. I want to know how many people would be down for this. If we can get enough participants, the prizes can be huge.
We have thrown Halo2 tourneys that gave out 360’s to the top Prize Winner. Then again, those tourneys had 50+ participants. Let’s try to make this as big as possible to show non-fighting fans that the PDX area is alive and kicking with talent!@ If we want corporate sponsorship, this has to benefit a Charitable Organization. For Halo2, we had people donate cans of food.
It would be dope as hell if this could turn into a yearly/monthly thing. I want to know what games you guys want to play and what rules you want to go by. Let me know all the details so I can talk to my boss and district manager. Let your friends friends know about this Idea.
I think last time I tried to get people to show up to one, there was 6 people for an Alpha tourney, I had to cancel, so did the guy who was getting me to advertise didnt make it either… and the people who showed up got screwed out of prizes.
Promised a stick, got a shitty pad. Promised 1st - 3rd getting an action figure, only 3rd did. Wouldn’t allow using sticks… etc.
Were going to try hosting a Guitar Hero 2 EBGames tourney at PSU, and maybe get some endorsement from EB for some other console tournies if it goes well.
v-ism on a pad pwns v-ism on a psp blows… actually any ism on a psp blows. infact alpha on the psp blows -__- x-ism yun ftw though! lol and jetay you faired well on the soul calibur tourney at game trader didn’t you?
I understand your guys concern. That’s why I want it to be as organized as possible before it starts. We need to lay down the rules and follow through with it.
The sooner the planning starts, the sooner I can talk to the higher uppers about this.
the Game Trader SC2 tourney was funny, I was sitting next to some guys who were talking shit about everyone who was playing. They sure shut up when Jetay started beasting though.
HAHA, Yeah i heard them to! I think 2 people quit after i played my first game and 3-0, 3-0 my first guy! People came up to me like " man your good, i don’t wanna play you " It wasn’t that i was good. It was the fact that most of you sucked that bad and didn’t figure out that sometimes you might have to BLOCK LOW! It was amasing how the figured that out in the last game when RBX told them what to do after the finals! swear to God they all thought the Taki Bomb was unblockable!Dumbass kids!
