Game-pad Mod

Is it possible to take an old Dreamcast ASCii Street Fighter 6 Button controller and put a universal fighting board in it? If not, can one be put in the one of the older Xbox 360 or newer PS4 fighting gamepads? The reason for me asking is because I LOVE my old ASCii controller! I’m also looking into a custom fighting stick, but lugging one around all the time sound tiring. Does anyone know if this has been done at all? Thanks.

StrtFghtrMstr, do you have any links to how this can be done? I’ve been looking on the internet for this and haven’t been successful. Even better, do you know anyone on the forums who can do this mod?

I’m doing something similar here at Check out my Quad and Penta mod pads with legacy

Ok, just so I understand, the box with all the stuff inside is the mod correct? If I’m seeing this right, this isn’t really what I had in mind. I’m thinking of taking something like the brooks PCB, stuffing it into the HORI or whatever pad I choose and playing it that way. Based on the project you showed me, it probably wouldn’t work due to the lack of space.

Few people other than @Gummo consistently do full PCB replacements in controllers, so you probably won’t find much documentation on that.
In a nutshell, you just have to get creative as to what you can cut off from the replacement PCB and where you can stuff what’s left into the controller casing of your choice. Note that cutting up the replacement PCB will often result in removing all screw and pin headers, and likely involving soldering to vias or traces directly.

I can do the mod…send me pm and I’ll show u some of my pad mods

First post in 2 years? Must be an extreme lurker.
In any case, why not just post the mods you’ve done?

If you can’t do it yourself, pm Gummo. He is the best. He helped me many years ago at Season’s Beatings in Columbus. Dual modded a madcatz 360 fightpad to work on ps3 as well. He knows his stuff like, few others ever will! Definitely the man to talk to, if you want to dual mod a pad, and the value is good, considering the work that goes into it.
