On a plus note, after this semester I’ll be 2-3 classes away from graduation + my gf and I are moving into a new apt with our 3 adorable kittens (Heisenberg, Cam (Newton), and Jack (Daniels)) 
Jack used to hide a lot and we almost changed his name to Vynce. We considered it even more so when he came out of nowhere to destroy the adorable wrestling contest between Cam and Heisenberg with extreme prejudice.

I almost say we should just lock in Synonym as our #1 player. He seems to be a general consensus to be in by now, and I don’t want him to get gypped by the politicking that we’re doing.
The question is, do we allow the players who voted for him to move their votes around some more, or are they just locked?
Or are we going to keep Synonym on the table as a possibility to be ousted?

Let me share a story with you. It’s a sad tale, the story of a man who has been dejected all his life by the Random Number Goddess.

When I was a kid, our class would play Bingo every Friday. Do you know how many times I won Bingo? I didn’t. I never got any tickets. I never got any friends.
When I was an older kid, I discovered a website that played a game known as “Mafia”. My first game I was picked to be on the Mafia team. It was the most fun I’d ever had playing a game, full of crazy plans and unique characters. I made fast friends with many of them.
The next game I was picked to be Civilian. And the game after that. And the next one. And so it has been for as long as I can remember. The games were still enjoyable, but lacked the thrill of deception that I craved.
However, there was hope at the end of the tunnel. A game where you could state a preference for a specific allegiance. But that hope was crushed just as it began to flower. I cannot participate in that game, for I am helping to run it.
And now, when there arises the opportunity to play in another Mafia game to represent my friends and website, that too has been taken out from under me. Maybe one day, eventually, the Random Number Goddess will pity me and grant me my sole wish. But I cannot hold out hope much longer.
@Icege man, life happens. Congratulations on things going so well with your girl! I’d be bragging to a wife with rolling eyes if you did name that cat after me.

You see, I always wanted to succeed. I always got robbed of success? Poker, the gods of variance spit in my face. Baseball, not Dominican enough.
But Mafia? That’s an even playing field.
And I had it. I had it so badly, victory was in my grasp.
Then suddenly, there it was, right in my face, a post that I never meant to put in the place it actually went. And with that, success was taken from me.
And I’m sure it was Fuzz’s fault.
You see, if you vote for Fuzz, you vote for a saboteur. And if you vote for me, you give me, a white boy that had such a hard life in the cornfields of Illinois, not being blessed with a rabbit’s foot or being Latin, a chance to taste what he always wanted. Success.

RF has been #1 spot on the leaderboard for awhile. He consistently makes good reads. In his first game, he mindfucked you all as Mafia.
I, on the other hand, have like a 20% win rate. I’ve had plenty of moments in these games that people respect, but to be clear very rarely do they work out. I will make an impression, and be a fine player, but am I the absolute best?
My entire approach to this vote thing was to convince everyone that I should be in, knowing full well I am a weaker player than RF. I thought that maybe if I could manipulate people enough, I could convince myself that I deserved the spot. After all, isn’t that what mafia is? Manipulating others?
So in short, if you truly believe that I am the better player, by all means vote me. But I honestly think RF deserves the spot more than me.
I think he will – at the very least – be able to dedicate more time to it than I will, with him finishing up school soon. As long as his finals are done by next week when the game starts. Because thats a lot of fucking stress if not.
(oh yeah MP makes a fine choice too, but vote me over MP)
I’m retracting my vote for Syn at the moment. I think Missing Person deserves a chance to not get killed day/night one for a change.

And Synonym isn’t in the top ten. At best it’s an estimate of “which of the players who have played 6+ games get roles more often”. As for the Marvel game, that was part fluke, part Ben Perkins tier shenanigans on both sides, and part being new.
Weaker player? No. Different? Yes. Unless you have a very subjective description for “better player” in a very subjective game (and don’t you dare say win rates) then it’s very difficult to assert that player X is better than player Y except for extreme cases, like Ben Perkins.
I have 2 tests next week, but the minimum grade on them I need to get an A in their respective classes are very low, so they’re a minimal time requirement. I also don’t have a summer job as of yet. If anyone tries codes again there’s a reasonable chance I have enough time to crack them, or otherwise further scout/investigate the players in the game.
One thing I also want to make clear going into this: These players are more experienced than us, no question. Their meta is shorter and most of them have been playing far longer than any of us here. A lot of them have played 150+ games to our, what, dozen?
I’m also the youngest player who’s close to making the second spot, and IMO that would give me another advantage going into the game. It’s easy to think that the obnoxious college kid who’s played a fraction of the games you have is a minimal threat and doesn’t understand what’s going on as well as everyone else does. I can play that significantly better than Pimp, Chief, or MP because of my age. I guarantee you once I say “I need to leave for school, back in a few hours” it will drastically affect how they perceive me.
