Hey hopefully the final version of the game is fun, but right now it’s just not very interesting to me. I assume it has a long road of tweaking ahead, we’ll see where it ends up. Obviously we can’t pass final judgment on it until we’ve played the final version for a while. I’m just saying, the build from last night was not that great.
I just wanna know why you think this?
Easy mode combos?
Pandora?
Chains?
Quite intersted actually
Thanks for your feedback, David. That’s the reason Capcom even has these Fight Clubs, so they know what could use some tweaking before the game goes Gold. I imagine it would be Ono’s head if this game got bad reception with all of the money that’s being put into this.
I imagine the things you were talking about like the range/speed of jabs are going to be tweaked as time goes on. Obviously longer-reaching jabs would be slower than shorter jabs, and once we start figuring out juggles I imagine that’ll give the game some added depth. Not sure about the Cross Assault being CPU-controlled when it was stated that the player would control it all the way: I guess it’s like you said, it hasn’t been implemented yet.
It looks like counter hits while you are on the ground are very dangerous
Off topic: I noticed that this topic was openend by my good IRL friend, hahaha.
SMall world.
(Carry on)
After looking at some footage from Eurogamer Expo, it seems that super charge is a lot faster. If it remains this fast, you’ll most likely be able to use it in a combo.
lol i can see it all too clearly now. Move with insanely long hitstun (say tatsu or chun lighting legs) > Tag Cancel > Super Charge.
Free supers are gonna be the bomb haha
I have a couple of questions for those who have tried the game, I hope you guys can help me out here:
1-. does the game still have loose strings? (as in, someone can mash shoryu/super, etc between them)?
2-. are backdash as invincibles as SFIV?
3-. If I…lets say, do a blocked shoryu canceled into tag, is it 100% safe or the opp can punish me?
thanks a lot
well i haven’t played but i can anwser these.

In the current build you cannot use specials to end chains. So it will be just like SF4 with that crap.
-
Yes backdashes are invincible but in this game if you have a good c.mp or c.mk you can chain that into a launcher and you can eat a lot of damage from doing it.
A good example of one of the new characters who have a good back dash is Poison’s which seems to be better than Rose’s. -
It depends where you are on the screen. If you are on the ends of the screen (Corner) they might be safe depending on the push back and how fast your character can come in. If you do it and where else like mid screen, both of you characters have a good chance of being punished.
Only some characters can cancel chains into specials.
There is a good chance that will change by the NYCC build which we’ll see in 2 weeks time.
Two weeks? The SFxT panel is next friday, isn’t it?
It this Friday
Are they going to show and more things regaurding SF x tekken today?
I’d like some sort of hint of mechanic changes.
I can still win with any character, without counter or parry, without good teching. But chances are if anything we will see more chip damage, longer combos, more one way bull shit grabs, already gave up a long time ago on character balancing, they all suck but Tekken cast might spawn a few good ones.
/facepalm
well from what i was able to grasp from watching some BGS footage…indeed some characters can still chain and cancel into specials…Abel can do cr.:lp:, cr.:mp:, EX shoulder(wallbounce) so im thinking they are slowly balancing it out, so instead of being universally…it being on the lines of…Targets? without being listed…if that makes any sense.
also on the Launcher Jazz…you can Command Launch from normals, chains or links but you have to input it manually.
to help clear the air about it…with CrossRush, the:l::h::h: the second hard gets you the launch.
if you do any other chain like :h: you have to input :hp:+:hk: to get a launcher.
Last but not least, you can Link into Chains…example is…cr.:lk:x2 Links into :l::h::h:
I hope that explains it…
ass.
Don’t they understand that this mechanic makes the wakeup game less interesting? Even Daigo complained a lot about that, as a feature that he doesn’t like. Hell I think that no pre-2009 player can like that mechanic, and I have doubts on new players too
oh yeah something alittle interesting to add…moves that Charge into EX, SuperArts…can be Dash Canceled…if you didn’t know already…
I kinda find it absurd the Ryu can cancel his cr. roundhouse into hadoken
