Finally got a team I settled with after messing with a friend last night. Akuma/Dormammu/Trish was working out fairly nicely for me. Still just working fundamentals, but I should do better than I did the last time. This weekend’s not good for me for meeting up, so I’ve got time to practice.

Oh! Todays the last day for an early bird badge for CEO this summer. It ends at midnight I believe? and it ends up being $10 cheaper than waiting. I’m pretty broke, so I’m getting mine now.

If I do end up booking a hotel room though we could split a room for two and have Petey sleep in the couch/bathroom/dumpster/whatever.
I think you can get a hotel room for up to 4 people for $79 a night…don’t quote me on that just check the tournament website. Once FR is done we should all plan what we are gunna do for CEO so we aren’t doing it at the last minute like with FR.
I already for my room and badge for CEO. I have a full room but if someone drops, Ill let you guys know closer to the date. My van seats 6 passengers so if I have room, I’d be willing to shuttle since Ocala is on the way. I plan on staying for the entire 3 days.
I’m staying at my brothers apartment for CEO but I’m bringing up two of my friends from Seminole otherwise I’d say some of you could crash there. If one drops, I’ll have an extra spot for someone free of charge to stay. I was going to get my badge tonight but it said register for games at the same time, and i don’t have enough on my card to make that transaction.

Well I live in Gainesville and if anyone here is going I would like to jump in on the ride. I really dont want to take the Grey hound there
So I was thinking about asking the owner of Lollicup (the really god boba tea place on 34th) about maybe using their 360 and tv like once a week or once every other week to get together and play some casuals. Just in case playing at robs doesn’t pan out a certain weekend. The tv may be lagless because they use it for karaoke games which I’m pretty sure needs to be lagless. Is this a good idea? Would anyone go? Or should we just keep playing at robs?
Don’t get me wrong, I love playing at Rob’s, I was just wondering if this was a good idea or not? Maybe Rob doesn’t want to host one week and then we could go there? Just an idea.
It’s not a bad idea, IMO. It’s just kinda weird to imagine SF/Marvel at Lollicup lol.
EDIT: I was gonna say someone needs to make sure matches go smoothly and whatever but I forgot we’re talking about casuals and not tourneys.
I mean we could hold tourneys there possibly. But if its just us like 5 or 6, it doesn’t seem like a large enough tournament. I’m thinking in a SSF4 state of mind though because if we played Marvel and put up flyers, there would probably be a bigger turnout. At least I hope there would be.
Yeah, I enjoy hosting but attendance is getting pretty strong now. We got 9 people last time I hosted and that didn’t include adam and a few guys from the penny arcade forums that showed at least passing interest in meeting up. The idea of having 13 people at a place with only 2 setups doesn’t sound fun at all. I’ll host as long as we need, if the numbers stay this high we might want to consider finding a larger place that can accommodate us.
By the way… I’m definitely hosting something friday… just not sure what time I’m gonna make it.
13 people is also a good starting amount for a small tourney. And I missed a meetup 9 strong? Damn, that sucks!
